The rumours are that Frank de Boer is favourite for the job.

Yes, I stayed for the lap of appreciation, it was very funny seeing Big Sam enjoying himself.

Thanks Penton Man.
welcome.
These weekday matches kill me. I was up until midnight watching (and rejoicing) the match and festivities with my wife and then I was too riled up to fall asleep. Amazing last few days in the Prem with LCFC winning the title, West Ham leaving their park in style and now your escape.

It's great. The ref from last Saturday's match against Chrlsea mentioned that it was the first time he couldn't hear his assistants for the noise at our place!

That's what we are famous for and it has been lacking for a short while when certain players were here who couldn't care less about the club IMO. Relations with the fans were at an all time low. Big Sam has brought in players who have become cult heros and injected the team with confidence. I can't speak highly enough of our manager. That's what gives the fans hope. Sir Nial Quinn mentioned that sometimes good tackles get as big a cheer as a goal by SAFC fans and he is right. That's all the fans ever ask for, total effort and passion. This is not a quick fix this time around.

I think it's great that you are enjoying the Premier League so much Penton Man. Once you are hooked that's it.
I like boxing, I like snooker, football is just a way of life for me. It touches people like no other sport. We get angry, nervous, ecstatic, weary, euphoric, tearful, hopeful and any other emotion you can think of!
Once I pull those Red and White stripes over my head I know that the day won't be dull.

Some days I feel like tying Palace's red and blue stripes around my neck but, as you say, it's experiencing the emotional ups and the downs which make this sport so very special, as well as the literal ups and downs of our tiered leagues. As seriously as Americans take their sport it's all built around winning (there's no relegation, ties aren't allowed etc) and most regular seasons are pretty short compared to the ten month slog of most football competitions.

It is what it is, I'd never dream of taking that competitive spirit from the USA because it's what the country is famed for, what it thrives on, and I love a bit of NFL and NHL (got a Stevie Y Red Wings jersey hanging in my wardrobe). But that added ability to fail as well as succeed - with the length of the season either prolonging the agony or drawing out the ecstacy - is what ultimately makes football just that bit more thrilling to me.

Let's hope it's not some vain puff piece like that Sepp Blatter movie with Tim Roth!

On a different note, Wednesday beat Brighton (spit) 2-0 in the play-off semi 1st leg tonight, I hope that they can get the job done at the Amex. Barry Bannan was class, and to think Palace spunked £13M on Cabaye instead of keeping the wee Scotsman.

And it comes to an end for another year. Expecting 11 changes for today be interesting for Klopp to see more of the younger players.

All eyes on Wednesday need to win and get Champions League football.

Mr Friend (as usual IMO) doing his very best to prevent us getting a result. Two goals wrongly disallowed and then gives Watford a pen for a blatant dive.

I hated him before today. Good job we are safe because the useless ***** would relegate us.

Pleased for the Arsenal lads. It just goes to show how critical that game n hand was for us though.

As for us, I just wanted goals so I can enjoy football first tonight.

I see Leicester got a draw. Not a bad way to end season.
