Yeah, home tie at start of year is good anyway. One more match to go to! (Or is that a bad thing considering who I support?)

It's either tomorow night or a week tomorrow, but I remember seeing in a TV listings magazine recently a mid-week Match of the Day on BBC One. One of the things I look forward to over the festive period is the Boxing Day edition of the Match of the Day programme.

I prefer Match of the Day 2 on Sunday nights. Just my personal opinion, but I'm getting a bit sick of Gary Lineker on Match of the Day. Much prefer Mark Chapman on the Sunday night programme, and that show's light-hearted tone. When it's on form, I love 2 Good 2 Bad.

Damn fine weekend full of Prem league matches, will sit down later on this week to watch Barca v. Real Madrid which I also recorded and see how that compares in terms of high drama.

I think Des Lynam was presenting Match of the Day when I started watching it. I used to like him on the show.

I can't stand Alan Shearer, ever since the football World Cup coverage in Rio (from my point of view he came across as an angry and aggressive pundit). However, he was bearable compared to his co-pundit on last Saturday night's edition. I remember him being on Match of the Day 2, either towards the end of last season or around the start of the current season (he comes across as the kind of person who'd say you need to grow thicker skin or you're too sensitive (which is one of the oldest cliches and stereotypes in the book). Much prefer Roy Keane on the ITV football highlights programmes (he comes across as scary but likeable).

I miss Gordon Strachan's funny post-match interviews on Match of the Day, which were always worth watching.

The only pundit i like today who is honest and speaks a lot of common sense is Graeme Souness.

Being a Sunderland fan, we hate Shearer lol.

Well, that was to the point.

Am not a big fan of Mourinho at all. I liked Manchester City's manager last season. Thought he acted like a gentleman.

You will get used to it. I don't mess around with words my friend!

Yeah, I agree. He was a gent.

As for Jose? He is the clueless one!

A real cruncher for tomorrow. Swansea away, win and we can build and climb the table, lose and we are back to the massive struggle. Watmore out for season is a huge blow, the guy's work rate is incredible. Thankfully, Borini is back in training and Seb Larson played his first game of the season last week.

Nervous weekend for me!

Good luck guys

I'm not expecting us to get anything out of Sunday's game against Chelsea. A draw would be great.

I did like Gary Lineker when he guest-hosted an edition of Have I Got News for You earlier this year. He is guest-hosting next Friday night's edition (which is the last one before the Highlights edition). Chris Kamara was a guest panellist on the programme in October (they played one of his bloopers from Gillette Soccer Saturday. Very, very funny).

I like Kamara. Seen a few funny clips of him on Sky.

Good luck mate, hope you can pull off a shock.

We have them on Wednesday night

http://www.sunderlandecho.com/news/b...tler-1-8281121

It's going to be a very emotional night because this young brave lad will be returning as a mascot. His situation has been well documented over the last year as many north east football fans have donated money to try to help with treatment. Respect to our rivals Newcastle as they have also been excellent and when he was a ballboy earlier in year against Everton, Everton donated a lump sum towards the fund which was so so kind of them.

Ultimately it looks like it won't save the lad and it's so tragic. Bless him.

Commiserations to vortex and Steedy, well done tob as the Arsenal express shows no sign of slowing down.

I'm ambivalent towards the Palace result because is a point is a point but our same old problems are there, how we beat Southampton last week (never mind get a clean sheet!) I have no idea.

Any of youse see the latest silly stat for Palace? In the last seven games involving Palace there have been 36 goals scored, which is ridiculous. What I'd give to get the most boring 0-0 draw in the world at Man U on Wednesday! But we have a dreadful record against Utd since returning to the top flight - played 6, lost 6 - and that's not going to improve.

It's been an entertaining Match of the Day tonight. I knew the results from this afternoon's games, but didn't know the result of the Leicester vs Manchester City game.
