HDJK has a point. Can the members please try to refrain from answering questions that have been posed to the insiders? And, as usual, please limit the idle chatter.

To paidgeek: so what have you heard about Warner re-mastering Superman Returns for a time-exclusive promotion with Pioneer? (puts $5 in the coffer)

I think there is substance to this. And wait, it gets better... with Dolby THD.

Very cool. That would coincide with Pioneers implementing the ability to decode TrueHD in their new player, as well as the forthcoming FW update for the BDP HD1.

I have a question for paidgeek, according to the back cover that I have seen Rescue Me Season 3 is region A, however I have also seen it on a list of Region A titles that will play in Region B players, I was wondering if there was anyway that you could confirm if it is region encoded or not?

I also hope that the PS3 is upgradeable to BD profile 1.1 via firmware, if/when it is confirmed I will be upgrading my Samsung for the PS3.

To paidgeek: Somebody posted this link - Children of Men.

Basically it's a link to SPHE's site in Korea that details the movie's DVD features. So the questions then become, a) do you have any inside info as to when you are going to work on this title? and b) would you guys make a seperate video encoding than used by Universal?

I went to see Knocked Up today from Universal Pictures. However, i paid for Spiderman 3 and snuck into knocked up. Let anyone you know at universal that you got paid for their efforts. And let them know it will continue till they start releasing on BD.

I don't think any of us should do anything like this. It's akin to stealing. Let's let market forces drive Universal to make the right decision (to release on Blu-ray).

I agree but it's still funny.

As far as market forces - nah - too many cases of those with the most money actually abusing the market forces - by spreading lies and misinformation that in the end prevent market forces from working as they should. That's why there are RICO and monopoly laws..that unfortunately aren't being enforced to have the intended effect of stopping it - quite the opposite in fact. The law and the enforcement it of have become a joke. An issue far far bigger and more important than the above - yet people rarely point it out.

To paidgeek: So when should we expect Surf's Up! to be on BD?

Tell the boys and girls at Sony Animation Studio and Sony Imageworks that they did a great job. Great stuff!

To paidgeek: I dont know if this has been asked yet, but is Sony considering adding deinterlacing and upconversion for 1080i and 480p BD content, respectively, to the PS3? Also, is a fix for the RGB Full bug in the works?

For paidgeek or Penton-Man:

I keep seeing a lot of the HD DVD zealots throw this around like it's fact, and I'd like to know if it is actually true or if it's just FUD. Is Sony the only one capable of manufacturing BD-50s now, or are there other production lines pressing them as well?

Hi can you tell me when is Sony going to start taking the European market seriously. All of their online stores only have the PS3 as their BR player. When are we in Europe going to get a dedicated player like Japan and the USA. I have to say sony-europe really sucks.
