this thread is supposed to be specifically for blu-ray fans to have our questions or thoughts answered by insiders. its been stated in here many times. the mods will simply delete your posts if you are simply commenting or providing answers with anything but a valid link, so no "i heard" or "my friend told me". im not accusing you of doing any of this, but im simply saying that mods clean up the insiders thread all the time, and your comments will simply be deleted from existance if they aren't relevent or appropriate for the thread, so don't waste your time or theres. once again i don't know if you are doing any of this, but don't post a lot of non-questions in here for future reference.

Paidgeek

PLEASE get in touch with whoever you have to, and get more Sony BD's to Frys stores. Ive been going to the Anaheim and Fountain Valley stores since monday morning, and they have been sold out of Sony BD movies since sunday and they restocked once and already sold out. The BOGO deal ends tomorrow, do something and get the discs there in time! I keep going through the BD section there and have rainchecks for 10 sony BD movies already, but i WANT to buy them this week obviously! Thanks.

BTW, the manager of the movie department there told me frys sold thousands of discs because of the special, average person was walking to the counter with over 10 BD Discs.

Some simple questions for insiders:

- Is Terminator 3 a 1.1 title (Warner title, out early december, has PiP)
- Will we have a 1.1 blu ray standalone player (not a hybrid) out by then

Blitz, by tomorrow ?

Aint gonna happen. There was way, WAY greater demand than expected for the Blu-ray discs by the buying public. All you can hope for is another BOGO deal before the holidays.

Don’t you just love the British accent of the operator that directs the calls at the Fry’s in Anaheim off LaPalma ?

My choice for thread of the day goes to……………
https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=19974

The only problem is that when I try to click on the AVS link (included in the first post)…..it says “I don’t have permission to view the page”. Did they ban me from AVS ?

Anyway, regardless, I hope that no studio publishing in any format sacrifices video or audio quality for the sake of *extras*.
In my opinion, that undermines the quality of either high-def format---- which is the primary reason I thought these formats came into existence to begin with.

It was working for me earlier, but now it says I don't have permission to access also. Oh, well. Maybe I was banned too...

I want to give a big thank you to Paidgeek for clearing up a question I have been asking "over there" for months. I had been asking whether or not the XBR4 does true 5:5 pulldown, aka 1080/24p at 120hz, or if it did 3/2 pulldown to get to 60hz then double those "frames" to display at 120hz. I should have known better than to expect answers to questions about a Sony product over there. If I asked a question about the Regza or the Xbox I probably would have been treated like royalty. I'll know better next time.

Thread was deleted, or "strategically pruned". Take your pick as to choice of wording.

I live 8 minutes away from that Frys LOL, ive yet to see what the operator looks like! But man, i am upset more about sony losing sales due to being out of stock on titles more then anything else. This was the week it was supposed to happen and everywhere you go, everything sony/disney seems sold out!! Heck, when i was looking at the Blu-Ray end cap with the Warner Best Of box sets everywhere, a douchebag put a HD DVD version in front of the BD boxes. I took it and put it next to the kids movies. Im going to the fountain valley frys after service tonight, ill see if they have anything there, fingers crossed!

Well I wouldn’t be surprised if it *reappears* with a revision of history, some of those deleted AVS threads tend to do that….. while the mods are working their magic.

It is nice to know that I’m not banned though.
I wonder how long the following thread will go before it’s locked, deleted or multiple posts are deleted.

Poor Richard.
I think he hasn’t had enough of knocking his head against a red wall.

Circuit City in Brea off Birch ? still has a some Blu-ray’s left……at least more than the Fry’s in Anaheim.
Plus a lot of babes with accents (which I’m a softie for) hang out at the nearby TGIF’s there.

Penton-Man, somebody here on the forums claimed that Rob Zombie's (yeech) Halloween is coming out on Blu-ray Disc. Not that I would want to buy it but since The Weinstein Company was HD DVD exclusive and then stopped releasing them onto HD DVD a few months ago. That's what got me interested.

Just asking if you know anything about it.

I believe that the MGM influence may be at play with Halloween.

Perhaps, but they're just the theatrical distributor. Still, you never know.

FYI, my office has reported that the notice of our titles being delayed was basically bogus. The only title that is moving further out in the schedule is "The Life of Brian". I mistakenly assumed that the original information was right, but in this case... it was not...
