I'd rather not sit there with my wife and each of us have headphones on. More to the point, it makes it impossible to listen out for the kids should they have a problem.

Blu-ray players outpacing supply

Retailers report sales gap closing between two formats

Some consumer electronics retailers see the sales gap closing between set-top HD DVD players and Blu-ray Disc players as the two formats have come closer in price.

At Ultimate Electronics and Abt Electronics, Toshiba’s second-generation players are still the best-selling individual models, but collectively, Blu-ray players have been outselling HD DVD Toshiba models in recent weeks....

This has already been discussed and noted. What I haven't seen though is anyone giving YOU credit for predicting this here on this very forum about 2-3 weeks ago.

Any other "predictions" you can share?

If you're referring to this post............

I gave Keith credit (indirectly) on AVS.
Doesn't that count ?

Hahaha, that's the post Penton!!! But I don't spend much time over at AVMS anymore, so I'm not sure if I didn't see your post or if it was my faulty memory due to old age.

You’re too kind.
I get the impression that the above is a diplomatic way of saying……”No, that doesn’t count.”

I actually posted it in the “militarized zone” where one must wear a flak jak and carry nothing less than a fully automatic weapon to survive. Only did, because I scanned the top and found a thread started by trbarry, who seems to be a nice fellow always searching for the truth.

Do the newer SoC IC's have built in support for Java, or will that have to be done by an external CPU? Same question but for iHD?

When I say Java, I guess I mean all the features of profile 1.1, right up to and including a secondary HD stream decoder for pip. What about for profile 2.0?

Thanks
Keith, did you see this? I haven't seen a reply yet, but maybe I'm missing it.

No external CPU needed to run Java. Software optimizations are also on-going to speed things up, including disc loading times.

I gave it a push on the “Uni” thread, maybe it will gain some traction there.

So, it wasn't you who deleted it? Man that sucks! I keep to mostly the pj/htpc forums - I keep hoping there will be change.

It has been reposted http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...&#post11307399 by sstephen.

come on Keith, how can it be news, there is nothing in it that can be spinned into HD DVD is doing extremely well and will win the war, so it is insulting and must be deleted.

if it ever becomes a site for intelligent people to have intelligent discussion again let me know. I could not take seeing it go down hill faster and faster any more.
