My 930E in the office always gets it immediately and also happens to be the TV I am most willing to take a risk with so I always update it first. A1E is usually around the same time or within a day or two, Z must be getting its updates from a weak signal from space so I always end up flashing via USB.

My 900E has a new tile saying "TV software update". If you click it it goes through all the upcoming changes a la the link provided on the previous page. My Z just got it as well. There's another tile they both now have called "Information from Sony 'Asphalt Nitro' " It has a hazard sign above it. I haven't clicked it yet

Just a couple questions.
Are SDR picture settings for watching 1080p and below content or 4K without HDR? I'm assuming if it's for 1080p and below, anything that's 4K should be watched with HDR settings even if it doesn't have HDR? I recently watched Hot Summer Nights on Amazon in 4K and the the bars were grey instead of black. I've done some research and apparently there's no fix for this when watching thru the TV's app. Just wanted to see if anyone here knows of a solution. |

I don't stream so I've no idea what's going on there, but on my TV then I use the same settings for SDR regardless of whether it's on DVD, Blu-ray or 4K. I only use HDR picture settings with HDR material.

I've been playing around with motion settings for SDR using Cinema Home, mainly Motionflow - Custom, Smoothness - Min, Clearness 1. I set brightness to 28-30. For HDR I'm using Cinema Pro and been trying out Motionflow - TrueCinema. I don't want to lose any brightness while watching HDR so I've avoided Custom. While watching the blu of Isle Of Dogs the other night panning shots looked very good. I did read that going over 3 on Clearness can cause visible flicker. I haven't even moved up to 2 yet.
Also, when I do receive the latest Oreo update is it a good idea to perform a factory reset after a firmware update? |

Damn hard to find a place that Best Buy will deliver a new 65 Z9D. In many California Locals.
Few locals near a wherehouse has some to pick up. But that can be a Long Drive. Consider yourself lucky if you obtained a Z9D reciently at Bottom prices. |

FYI the Oreo update is available on Sony's site for applicable models.
Unfortunately I don't have enough time to install them this morning but will start with the home office TV once I get home from work this evening. Another user confirmed that it adds YouTube HDR support and supposedly fixes stuttering in the Amazon app. |

There are some very experienced and smart Z9D owners on this forum. I need help.
I am having very serious issue with my Z9D user interface being extremely slow. When I press the Z9D remote's "Action Menu button"... scrolling down to like "Picture Adjustments" or "Sound adjustments" is more than extremely slow. Like waiting 20-30 seconds plus between each scroll down entry selection can happen. Until you wait that long nothing happens when you click the remotes down scroll button. Even when you do get into the "Picture adjustments" Z9D screen... scrolling down to Picture Mode, auto picture mode, brightness, color etc takes a long time. There is like a 30 seconds pause between each aforementioned selection. Clicking remotes scroll down button____ nothing happens until the 30 seconds plus has occured. Then the scroll down button takes effect for one selection. I have gone into Settings---Apps and cleared cashe, cleared data, Forced App stop for Sony Select, Sony Shelf. I have unplugged the Z9D's AC cord for 10 minutes. I changed batteries on my Z9D's remote. None of those worked to correct my described issues. *****Note I have not done the following: Option B: Factory Data Reset IMPORTANT:*Performing a factory data reset will remove all customer settings in the TV including apps, channels, and wireless network settings. On the supplied remote control, press the*HOME*button.Select*Settings.Select*Storage & reset.Select*Factory data reset.Select*Erase everything.Select*Yes. If I do the Factory Data reset and the problem is not resolved___ then re-making all the Picture Adjustments settings will literally take forever.
