[edit] I'm using Pro for HDR and Home for SDR, everything is identical apart from contrast but because it doesn't store that setting differently between HDR and SDR on the same picture mode I can't use Pro for both. So I just copied the settings across to Home and just tuned the contrast/luminance towards 120-nit SDR specifically. The 709 gamut tracks perfectly as well, the average dE across my primaries and secondaries is 1.14. Last edited by Geoff D; 08-11-2017 at 11:49 PM. |

75Z9D owners. Need your input
I will be UPGRADING my Samsung 78JS9500 to either Sony's 77A1E or the 75Z9D First of all my initial thought is: Is the A1E really worth $9,000 more than the Z9D? Logic says, No. Which brings me to the 75Z9D. All the data to me says that it is an exceptional TV except for a couple areas and this is where I need your thought. RTINGS rates this set very high but rates low in two areas. Motion: Z9D 7.7 out of 10, the Q9 a 9 and the A1E a 9.6 Motion Blur: Z9D 7.4 out of 10, the Q9 a 9.3 and the A1E a 10 Do you, 75" owners, find Motion and Motion Blur problems with your sets? . |

Had my 75" since August and have put countless hours of gaming on it and the motion handling has been superb. |

My 930C was pretty nice, it just had flashlighting in the corners which were a bit annoying on letterbox movies.

It has indeed. I loved my 55X9005B but the edge lighting caused a change in colour temperature out near the edges of the screen, on panning shots it was always something of a minor distraction but the ZD9's FALD is much more uniform for colour temp and backlighting from edge to edge.

If they made a 55" Z, I would have considered it but this 930E seems to do a great job. I also considered getting another LG OLED but since I sometimes use the office TV as a second monitor, I decided to stick with LCD to avoid any potential image retention headaches. The 900E was also on the table but most of my content in this room is Twitch streams and DirecTV in the background while I do other things so I wanted the X1E to assist with the less than ideal source cleanup. (Plus I saw the miracles it can work on the Z.) The Sony's obliterate my LG E6 with less than ideal sources with far superior image processing, though I still do like some of the strengths of the E6. Anyway, sorry for slightly derailing this thread from specifically the Z but they are all part of the same family I suppose. ![]() |

![]() I primarily use my Nvidia Shield but it is certainly annoying when I am trying to change picture modes and I feel like I should grab a cup of coffee between menu inputs. Ironically the RVU with DirecTV works quite well but I think my DirecTV server is serving up the GUI. |

I still have zero issues with the menus, they're far more responsive and quick than my previous Sony 55"...but then I don't have it connected to the interwebs at all and don't use anything else on it other than tweaking the picture settings. Which I do a lot of, natch.

![]() I think Ill just cut wifi off, I dont need it looking for things and I would prefer to have control over FW updates anyways. I disabled the Samba thing even though I never see it, and the limiting of background processes is cool but I did not mess with developer mode. |

I need a wired connection on my Z for RVU but with the X930E, I suppose I could disable WiFi and stick to the Shield in the office. |
