First of all, the Bruce/Dublin sessions is a STUPENDOUS disc. Just a ridiculously amazing show, the crowd in Dublin is just THROBBING in unison. It's crazypants good.

Secondly, this is my first real experience with a 1080 source on Youtube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgbNy...layer_embedded

Make sure you dial the quality up a notch.

Gotta say, from a foot away from a 30" computer monitor running 2560x1600, it certainly could look much worse.

which I posted a couple weeks before the ‘official’ announcement from Springsteen's official website (brucespringsteen.net) i.e. “Bruce Springsteen With The Sessions Band Live In Dublin To Be Released On June 5”.

Well, first of all Sony/BMG is now called Sony Music Entertainment…..or Sony Music for short- http://press.sonymusic.com/ as Sony Corp. bought out BMG last year.
Secondly, they’re kinda like a separate division from Sony Pictures so, we travel on different tracks (pun) but, the next time I’m scheduled to meet with someone over there in music entertainment land, I’ll be sure to plant the DMB seed for you and/or see whaz up.
Sweet, that would be awesome...thank you from numerous DMB fans, you'd get quite a chuckle seeing how many DMB die-hard fans are swearing off this release because of the lack of Blu-ray option as the #1 reason to not pre-order. If someone up higher at Sony Music wants an insight, they can see it all going on in this thread starting around page 8 - http://antsmarching.org/forum/showth...=268989&page=8

Thumbs up

Penton some positive feedback for the folks at Sony. First Angels vs Demons BD looks outstanding, an awesome job on the PQ side. Second, just purchased the Dr.Strangelove digi-book and I love it. Unlike Warner, the Sony digi-book has all of the movie related issue on the back cover, and looks fantastic. Great job on all aspects of that release as well. In addition, I ordered my self a Sony S360 player, which I have been recommending to tons of family members, friends, and co-workers. All positive feedback, and all honest feedback.

And the ankle bitters in attendance were already bugging their uncle to get them AVATAR action figures for Christmas. Heck, I didn’t even know that Mattel? had come out with a Jake Sully action figure already.
I hope Jim does well with this film. He and everyone who worked on the film certainly deserve it.

Hey, try the movieIQ feature if possible and provide a little input, if you can, on the respective poll thread in the other subforum, as paidgeek personally requisitioned that particular thread to gather some feeback from early adopters.

Happy Thanksgiving Penton,

I will watch the movieIQ feature tonight on Angels and Demons and try to give paidgeek my two cents worth.

What did SPHE decide to do with the subtitle issue? I have heard that Angels and Demons has subtitles in the black bars. Is this going to continue to be the stance with Sony releases?

Thanks as all ways,

Shockingly enough, my copy of "Angels And Demons" came in today (getting the week's releases from Amazon the same week is odd enough, but with a holiday during the week, it's shocking!)... so I'll try and peek at the title tonight as well...

Thanks Penton,

I thought it might have been a timing issue. I didn't get to watch it last night but I will soon.

I don't know if you're a football fan but, that was a tough loss to LSU yesterday.

Glad you watched. It was a good game. The Razorbacks are really close to having a good program. Petrino is a great coach and I am proud to have him and our quarterback Ryan Mallet will be a first round pick in 2011.

I thought you were a soccer fan.

Penton,

SPHE did an outstanding job on the Angels & Demons release. I don't know if I'll have time re: the MovieIq stuff, but once again, SPHE sets the standard for A/V quality.

Looking forward to The Mask of Zorro this week...

This may become even less of an issue pretty soon. Players will start offering the ability to shift the subtitles soon. This includes both Java and non-Java titles. My current reference player ()is already offering this feature in beta software and it works great. In fact, I tried it out last night watching Angels and Demons and I was able to get the subs into the movie frame making use of my masking system even easier than before! Stay on the lookout for this feature with certain players soon!

Hey Kris,

Are you using the Phillips player? I wish Oppo would implement this feature.
