Not my forte and neither is it my role to leak details of any supplemental material. I’m not the Extras guy anyway…., I’m more a restoration type guy, who loves all classics, esp. -

The most relevant thing to me was that Kwai’s restoration was done utilizing the OCN as the source, using a scanning resolution of 4k to harvest the imagery.

If you’re in town for an Arsenal match, you can catch the restoration on the big screen here….

Regarding the "classic" Star Wars films and Lucas' comments - I do believe we'll see the original, classic versions fully restored in several years or so. Star Wars has always been a steady income stream for Lucasfilm and it would only make sense to continue. The originals - regardless of the quality - have been released on just about every home video format except maybe Betamax? However, I would also expect the "classics" to be higher priced (in relative comparison per movie) to next year's release, but that won't matter to fans. However, I definitely believe it will happen at some point.

that youtube clip has a broken racing/offroad vehicle, it's missing two wheels.

As for Kwai, worth a shot. Again, I weirdly am suffering from -seller's- remorse (and, no, not the king affecting the "Peter".)

Beta's on there.

Yeah, as per above, Dennis has TPM on LD twice (take that, anti-acronym peeps!), but =I= have ANH and ESB on a format I can't even play:

Video from vinyl. My introduction to home theatre, with players rented from the library. It's how I first saw the likes of Poltergeist and Top Secret.

Weird, but true...

One of the better pieces of eye-candy in The Matrix: Reloaded was Carrie-Anne Moss dressed in tight black leather riding a Ducati.

So, took me a while, but I did so. The clips that are ported from the DVD seem to have pretty bad EE, but I really found the picture for the most part quite spectacular. I have a feeling that many of the halos are a direct result from from shooting constantly in backlight with very little fill (save that which bounced off the light coloured wheat).

Even the train-over-the-bridge scene, which in the "extras" looks like it has crayon around its edges, seems pretty well integrated into the frame. Now, I'm not watching it on a 140" screen, but I've seen far more egregious takes before, and found myself never pulled out from the film for anything negative - quite the opposite, I found the imagery the best representation I've ever seen of this film (TM's only watchable flick, although Badlands has its moments.)

Have you seen the BD, or are you basing this on the DVD?

While I do not really share that fascination for the folks in the first link I surely do share the fascination for the ladies in the second one

And of course you got to tell us about that little event called the Reel Thing - it has been more than a day already and not a word from you about the surprise screening or all the other interesting stuff
