Bingo!

The movie is better than its reputation; the song is not.

Yeah, it was not the best one.

I liked the film quite a bit but absolutely cannot stand the cut-every-other-second A.D.D. film school method employed.

Why is is that I feel kind of uncomfortable reading the last half page of this thread ?

Ball busting aside I agree on the shaky cam - that was really annoying about the last Bond. For me it even beat out the last Bourne movie in that regard.

To me it seemed like Mark Forster was riffing off Ridley Scott's directorial style, but coming off more like Tony Scott in the process.

The shaky cam stuff was noticeable, but I didn't think it was quite as bad as the usual Paul Greenglass-Bourne sequel kind of treatment. I can see why critics of QOS complain the movie felt like James Bond was grafted into a Bourne movie installment.

Didn't Penton make a post a few months ago that a typical 100 minute "action" film has 700 cuts but QoS has 1000+ ??
(I'm making the numbers up, but you get the idea)

Well, that was their goal all along, they said as much

Rumor hath it that the next Bond will be "unfixed", and putting things back the way they should be, hopefully with better writing which would fix the only problem the franchise had in the first place.

Let Bourne be Bourne and Bond be Bond

Unfixing the tone as well or just the technical aspects? I like the darker Bond, even if that puts me in the minority. Thanks

Funny, since in the interview I read with the editing team, they spent most of the time insisting the opposite.

Ah, ok. Personally, I like the new 'book-style' Bond infinitely more than the over-developed movie Bond. For my money, these last two are the only Bond movies that matter since On Her Majesty's...

The Moore and Brosnan crap was fun for a go 'round in the theatre, but then forgotten. The Connerys and Craigs are worth a second look.

It was absolutely ridonkulus (to quote the NYC pigeons in Bolt).

We don't need several different angles of one single shot, and it makes it headache inducing trying to figure out what's going on.

Juanell, yeah, I hope that Directors (TV as well as feature film) get the shaky cam effect out of their systems. It sorta reminds me of rap music (Bruce Willis has a great quote from one of his movies -sharkshark) and neither do anything for me in regards to enhancing the mood of the art.

I will say however, that there is a seamless visual blending of the film (3-perf Super 35 as well as 4-perf Super 35) with the digitally captured imagery and you just can’t beat those Master Prime lenses.

I don't remember numerating the cuts for QoS but, I did give a rundown on at least one of the Bourne films.
Searching my past posts using the word Bourne may be helpful for further elaboration.
