No, I'm battling a cold that someone gave me during the concert dates I was working last week

Feels like the same one I had a week ago, thank you mutation

Sorry, no, I still can't say anything else. But there's a remastered disc, and I hope (but I'm not saying it's happening) that there's an exchange program, and isn't that the goal all along?

OK, you're being open... last you bought was Last Waltz, what's the last you watched? And how big's the library now? And, finally (I might have asked this before) did you actually get an HD-DVD player for comparitive purposes, and, if so, got any more of those kicking around (ie., titles that aren't out yet...)

Not sure you spend much time actually watching shiny discs, but I'm always amused by the choices that guys with access to private screening rooms get to make.

you no longer need to play coy or imitate “a fox” like I said several days ago.

Which reminds me.
Where’s Esox (with one “s”).

I’m just leaving the office now (after 8:00 P.M.) while you're probably all comfy with your feet propped up in front of a fire.

Well, it sounds like you didn’t have any firearms in the house, or I assume you would have mentioned it.
I guess that’s one good thing about the whole matter.

From the day I first spoke to Bill and you about it.
No unmonitored ASC3 ME (dust busting) this time around, which is not the same thing as ‘dnr’.

Yes, the Rashomon restoration project was supervised by Michael P.
Michael F. is the former Director of the AMPAS film archive.
As an aside, Martin S., Steven S., George Lucas etc. are doing a tribute to the late Akira Kurosawa as part of the 2010 Green Globe Film Awards in L.A. on the 22nd or 23rd of next month.

Hey, I’m assigning YOU (with the help of other Club members ), since you’re an affable fellow, to propel this thread past the 1 MILLION man/woman viewer-ship mark by the time I return back from the Games.
Do you think you can handle that?

It shouldn’t be too difficult, as I’m told our thread has recently been getting hit around 1,000 times a day (interestingly, more by non-members than members) and it looks like we’re getting pretty darn close to the million milestone anyway………..

It’s embarrassingly small.
I ultimately end up giving away many of them to friends.

That would be me, too - that is how I watched my last dozen 70mm movies - on 50 to 65' screens I now have Blu-Rays of 5 movies that I have already watched in 70mm but I have not yet dared to watch them on Blu-Ray - oh the lunacy...

I used to know a guy (and actually have some relatives mixed in with his family) who used to date the actress who played the secretary, who, shall we say, assisted her boss in his putting practice!

P.S.: Sorry to hear about the burglary Bobby. I take it you were out of your home... somewhere with power?

Of the 635 titles I own, I can only think of a few that truly bother me:

The 40-Year-Old Virgin: I don't know why, as this is not my type of flick at all, but I ended up with this movie, and while I haven't watched it yet, I did check out a few scenes and the PQ is BAD.
Dark City: Director's Cut: Again, very problematic PQ.
Gladiator: Check out the PQ of this movie... then check out the PQ of Braveheart... AARGH!!
Twister: I have trouble believing the movie is ACTUALLY supposed to look like this...

Though I may have issues with some, and think others could possibly look better, the above are the only ones I feel confident in saying they could look better.

Though it doesn't really bother me per se, I can at least understand the backlash against the "Halloween" (1978) release.

Actually they did steal one handgun I had the dresser, slide back and cable locked. It was a two-toned Springfield Armory XD-40 sub-compact semi-auto handgun. They stole the 9-round and extended 12-round magazines that came with it and also got the spare 12 round magazine for my Sig Sauer P226. Fortunately, my P226 was hidden elsewhere in the house and they didn't find it. They didn't bother with the shotgun I had in the bedroom closet (a 1977 Ithaca Model 37 Featherlight 20 gauge pump shotgun I inherited stored in its leather slip case).

I reported the serial number for the stolen XD-40 sub-compact to the police the morning it was stolen (along with serial numbers for the other expensive items taken). There is no way you can remove the serial number ID from that gun. The SN is engraved deep on the breech block of the barrel, it's also engraved pretty deep on the slide and is also found in a recessed area on the polymer frame under the muzzle.

I know you can't comment, but the post above mentioned they may label this new disc as a 10th Anniversay Edition. IF they did an exchange, I wonder what that means for the case artwork. If my disc has 10th Anniversary Edition, I'd like my cover to match.

*shiver*

Americans are weird...

At least your stolen (originally legally obtained) TV is unlikely to be used to kill anyone in the future, as opposed to your stolen (originally legally obtained) weaponry.

But, yeah, that's a whole 'nother debate, one far removed from this board.

This is somewhat inappropriate.
Bobby is the victim of a crime, not a criminal; and I am sure has no intention of killing anyone.

Now shark be kind, Bobby’s a good guy.
I would like the universe to be in balance and harmony whilst I’m gone.
http://link.brightcove.com/services/...id=64790979001

If anyone is interested, a little after the Opening Ceremonies we’re heading on up to Whistler for the Alpine events to cheer on Lindsey and Bode.

So…..in the evenings, after an exhaustive, intense day of cheering , if any aerial views show a bunch of *frolicking* adults in the condo’s outdoor heated ‘leisure’ pool at the base of Blackcomb Mtn. on the right (as one skis down), look closely for the handsome dude wearing the Penton cap …….that be moi.
And don’t stare at any of the women’s er………tops.

If it wasn't clear, that was the basis of my point... What worries me is that this crime may well continue to have victims long after the fact due to the fact that a weapon and amunition was stolen. That in no way is a denigration of Bobby or his (material) loss (you'll note, I hope, that I've already expressed previously to him directly my sympathies on the theft.)

Consider this one of those "culture clash" things - I live in a country, or at least a part of the country, where it's not an obvious question whether or not a gun was stolen. So, for me, the loss of that gun is a bit more shocking than the (unfortunate, certainly) loss of the material possession.

Meanwhile, I am pleased to see that the other thing that shoots, the 5D MkII, was not part of the loss.

To change the subject entirely, as someone that mildly rooted for the Colts, it's quite amazing to see the crowds of jubliant fans in NOLA. CNN is fully covering it live, amusingly...
