Cop Killers is up! You can get it for $24.95 by itself, or more in 3 different bundles. Everyone's been excited about this release, but I don't hear a lot about the movie, how good is it?

I enjoyed Cop Killers quite a bit, it's one of those movies where the protagonists end up on the wrong side of the law and are pursued the whole flick with a final confrontation at the end. It reminded me of a similar movie The Loners with Dean Stockwell. Very low budget, bad acting but still enjoyable IMO. Hopefully this blu-ray is a nice improvement over the DVD.

It's a better buy if you order them individually, as the listing states:
"SAVE A BIG 13.00 WHEN BUYING INDIVIDUALLY!!!".
If I follow that wording, I get them both for $23.99! Awesome, Dark Force! Thanks!
(You might want to change the listing to "when COMPARED TO buying individually.")

I'm not interested in Chaos so I'll wait to get Cop Killers by itself.

If you havent seen Chaos its worth checking out, excellent modern low budget horror film, better than trailer would suggest.

On the other hand if you dont watch modern low budget horror films or saw it and thought it sucked, nevermind!

Only complaint I had about the first chaos blu ray is that contrast was poor/washed out, but it sounds like they fixed that for the standalone with its color correction.

I already had Chaos and God's Bloody Acre so I ended up getting the T-shirt. This one is a little more edgy than usual even though I wear horror movie shirts regularly, but seeing as I'm in Chicago and lots of people here hate the police I think I should be ok. Hopefully I don't have to explain it to a police officer though.

I ordered one on Monday and haven't gotten a shipment notice yet. I noticed it is streaming on Amazon Prime. Doesn't look too hot.

I've seen that version and was concerned that that version would just get slapped on a disc without any sort of restoration taking place.

And then they'll put out a "super, deluxe" single edition with "scene by scene color correction" in 6 months.

There are some clips of it on Facebook, they're compressed to hell of course but it doesn't look too bad. It has print damage and stuff, colors look ok. I haven't seen it on prime though so I don't know what to compare it with.

If I'm too late, sorry, but I only just watched it.

God's Bloody Acre was not keeper for me. I like regional horror and exploitation, but it was not well executed enough to be effective or to dismiss it's uglier aspects as "earned."

Spoiler

They really lost me when a neglected housewife is raped by yokels, and starts licking her lips in ecstasy. She then gets chased, runs into her murdered husband's corpse, and has her throat cut. Whenever I describe this kind of thing, I know I'm in danger making it sound like hardcore exploitation gold, but I thought it was just kind of poorly done and never redeems itself.

The crummy promo materials would have you think it's a rape-revenge thriller. Nope, the ladies never have their day.

I just popped it in last night to get info for the database here, and it looked like a very nice print, at least the first reel that I looked at. There's some print damage but it didn't get in the way too much, and the grain looked better than I expected it would. Colors also looked very stable. This might get worse around the reel changes.

Also, there aren't any extras unlike what I recall hearing on the Dark Force Facebook page. So if you want extras, unfortunately you need to hold on to or buy an old DVD release.

Anyone know the turnaround time for receiving an order? No shipment notification yet from the order I placed Monday. I thought these guys were supposed to be fast.

They are usually fast, just email them. Your order was probably overlooked. Happened to me once. There was no movement on my order so I emailed. David got back to me immediately and shipped it out right away.

Some people get their order in like 2 days, my order's usually take 3 to 4. If you pay via PayPal you get a tracking number, but if you use credit card you don't.

You whipper snappers with your BRU-LAYS are missing out. The Code Red DVD of GODS BLOODY ACRE is one of Bill's greatest troll jobs. The menu screams at you on a loop. And it is a Loyd Christmas level of annoying scream. So while you ponder which Special Feature to view your brain starts to bleed. I laugh about it now but I remember wanting snap the disc in half.

So funny the reasoning given for Mirror Mirror 2 coming out before the original Mirror Mirror is because it’s Mark Ruffalos first movie. I don’t think anyone planning on buying this movie gives a shit that Mark Ruffalo is in it. So silly.
