I've got news for you, I've bought from DF once or twice. Never a problem. I was just bringing up the point what lengths you go to defending them, right or wrong.

It's pretty obvious that you have an agenda to praise Dark force no matter what they do. You questioned if you should get the old tape transfer dvd of Fiend because the blu ray had one day for night scene messed up, but the house that vanished being cut down (without being advertised as such because DF didn't even research it) was completely fine. What would dark force have to do to lose your trust? You have defended literally anything and everything they have ever done including outright lying. If he acts like a shithead you say its just part of his entertaining act, if he acts cool you think he's a respectful professional. He said Roger Ebert died because he watched chaos and you just never commented on it. I'm genuinely curious what DF could do to make you question him.

You should very simply have added (+$4 flat shipping/order) next to the HB prices instead of leaving that out. If a person were only interested in one of those items then your analysis is off - and its frankly unlikely there are a lot of people who want to buy a cart full of unpopular old code red titles.

Also, instead of "0 for 11" if you really wanted to be honest you should have included some of the more recent releases, where Dark Force was the cheapest in virtually all cases. For those newer releases (the ones most people actually care about) it would be almost the opposite.

As I mentioned before, I looked at the HamiltonBook site, but I could only compare titles that they both carried. And in this case every title that they both had, HB was lower. So, what is DeFalco's real shipping costs because it isn't $5 per title. In which case saying he has free shipping is a bit deceptive don't you think?

HB may have started out as a clearance outlet, but they carry newer Blu-ray releases too. And shoppers can add other titles to their order if they'd like. It's not like they're only restricted to just CR titles.

But let's not forget that HB gets their Code Red stock from Bill...

Free shipping is what it is, and is handled differently by different stores.

Shipping isn't free, obviously, so if you buy something from a store with free shipping either they have to build the shipping into the price of the item for single buys (i.e. DF/Ronin model) or not offer free shipping unless you buy multiple items with a minimum dollar amount (i.e. Walmart/Best Buy). Either way with "free shipping" the retailer either needs to make up that shipping cost in the price of the item itself or by having you spend a decent clip of money from them in one order.

If the base prices are good I don't care one way or the other whether free shipping is offered because it will probably be close to the same price either way in the end, and this is one reason I thought it was funny people were upset that DF's store at first didn't have "free shipping" like Ronin. That being said, when you compare a store that charges shipping vs. one that doesn't, you do need to include that extra shipping charge in the comparison to be fair.

In terms of actual cost, while the base shipping cost for first class is about $3, the total cost is around ~$4 or so for a single item once you factor in having to buy a padded envelope and have someone pack it, then drive to post office to mail it. After that initial $4 the price only goes up around 50 cents per blu as long as you use media mail @ 1lb+.

The constant shilling by DF on their facebook page put me off ordering from them but last night I thought why miss out on some of the things I want just because the person behind the company is a knob with no business skills.

Made up a decent sized order and figured why not throw in SLAVE OF THE CANNIBAL GOD for that nifty cover only to be greeted with the following "SAVE 6.00 OVER PURCHASING AT RONIN FLIX". What kind of cheap and scummy nonsense is this, it's bad enough that they are price gouging so many older Code Red titles but now they are having a veiled go at others for no reason. Decided to not bother with a DF order and instead, once Rituals goes live I'm going to grab it alongside some other things from Ronin Flix.

You're sliding back into the miribeau character. Remember to keep it short as ruined.

I've bought from Dark Force a few times and shipping was always super fast. I just wonder how they will pack a slipcover? I've only ordered regular editions from them so it wasn't a concern, but if they put 'Slave' in the same kind of envelope, the slipcover will be utterly destroyed.

Ruined will probably be replying to this so I'll take the opportunity to say that I actually was enjoying your presence on the boards lately, but ever since a certain member was banned all you do is shill it up in here and that's super annoying.

Code Red and Bill were in far better shape before you entered his life with your tired shtick.
LOL @ you claiming to be contributing something positive to his life.

You used CR as a springboard into the 'business' ( cough ) and now he is slumped over in a chair in a near suicidal depression.

Would it be that big a deal to repress some of the more popular and wanted titles? I'm sure another 1,000 of some of them would sell. Bill can complain about sales when they where first pressed but I'd say a lack of availability is the bigger issue. Hell... I only started buying CR Blus since about a couple years ago. Not because I didn't want to, but because I didn't know where to do so. Plus, the way Bill handled the old Cartel store was a big turn off for most. Press more of the popular titles and let all the usual places stock them up. You could also put them on eBay for reasonable prices. Maybe a tiny bit more to offset the cost of PayPal and eBay fees. Set up an Amazon marketplace store. Problem is that people don't know where to get these titles, not that they don't want them. Promotion and getting the word out as gotten better in a way, but you're also over hyping and under delivering.

I have nothing against any label and have no problem supporting them where I can, including CR and DF. I know it's a cutthroat business and a bit crowded now, but you aren't helping your cause. I'm not saying you aren't doing anything right, but realistically you could do better. Start by stopping the scalper mentality because some losers on eBay do it. Hoping things turn around because there's a few things I would buy in a heartbeat if they where available and priced decently.

Why keep sold out titles on the site? At least 3 of the titles on the main page can't even be ordered.

Bill does everything he can to run his business into the ground and then we're supposed to pay extra to save it? Don't think so.

Ill oblige. First i dont think i ever got something with a slip from DF but I have sometimes gotten regular releases in padded mailer with extra cardboard insert to preserve cover. If you email and ask them to add a cardboard insert or double wrap they might do it. But its sold out now anyway.

Also when peoplle say stuff thats false or historically inaccurate i often reply to correct it and can lead to longish debates, just my posting style. When miribeau was around everyone was obsessed posting about her so wasnt much to comment on of note.

People say "shill" etc but im just telling it like it is. Whether its selling older titles for high prices, behavior, etc, Code Red has always been this way long before Dark Force, before Blu ray, etc. Many many years. DF is just the latest business partner to work with Code Red and has been the best thus far that Bill has actually stuck with. So i dont see Code Reds behavior changing and people may not like that so they call me names - but its reality.

Both you and DF have admitted that you’ve been given free merch for your glowing posts about their substandard products, so why should anyone take a single word from you seriously when it comes to Dark Force?

You get called a shill because both you and the person you shill for admitted that you’ve been compensated for being a shill. A duck is a duck is a duck, and Ruined is a shill.

I backup what I say with facts and logic.

Others call names and make unfounded claims that are easily disproved.

If one would rather believe someone elses fabricated/distorted bullshit because it fits better with their preexisting negative perceptions of these labels thats their prerogative.

The problem is Im usually right, and I think this is the primary source of frustration for those that call me names. Go back to page 9 of this thread and read in order and it is amazing the negativity & outlandish BS people were coming up with during the period DF launched THTV; for consistently countering the BS instead of going along with popular groupthink disinformation I was called names. In time, just about every single time my arguments were proven correct; I could easily fill a page with all the wrong info and conspiracy theories others have pushed in this thread.

I haven't even been on the forum that long, but I'd say you're one of the most hated people here - do you get some kind of sick satisfaction out of that? That many, many people think you are a complete douchebag and dread seeing your username in threads?
