What content gets a certain rating has changed. At least I think so.
When I was a kid in the late 60's/early 70's, I "knew" when a film was rated PG (GP?) that I was guaranteed boobs. Boobs were pretty mysterious to me then.

Get your orders in before they're close the store for restock, they're implementing a $5 shipping bulk shipping charge going forward due to "increasing USPS shipping rates".

Bought the Kingdom of the Spiders slip just to be safe.

Unfortunate, but it was kind of easy to see that shipping everything first class for free wasn't a sustainable business model. If the prices of the movies drop along with this like they say in the post, then it won't be too big of a loss to me at least.

It wasn't free. It was factored into the price.

It was never free, the df stated on here many times that shipping was factored into the prices, as such you shouls expect to see $4 knocked off the price of all titles on the site to reflect this new change.

Yes I should have said "free", but even with the shipping in the price there were still good deals to be had.

So I guess this is a stealth squashing of Beast's interest in scalping.

As long as the prices of the titles go down all is well. Butcher baker for $45 now!

Tarzan. Yup. I still remember how surprised we were when we rented that, so many years ago. What visuals get rated at what particular level has absolutely changed over the decades.

Why are you disappointed? He's going to lower prices to reflect no longer including shipping in the item price and then impose a single fee of $5 for a whole shipment, no matter how many items. Buying even two items, you'll save several dollars over what it cost last week. How is that disappointing? Am I missing a piece of information or were you?

Dark Force thread:
Hamilton Book lower base price plus $4 flat fee shipping is a much better deal than Dark Force higher base price and free shipping

Also Dark Force thread:
Dark Force lower base price plus $5 flat fee shipping is a much worse deal than Ronin higher base price and free shipping

Man, with Ruined around, the shipping costs should be totally balanced out by the savings Dave makes from not needing to buy toilet paper!

Exactly it's a no win situation but we have to do something. The postal shipping rates have increased very significantly really cutting into to an already marginal profit on many of the lesser titles especially if purchased individually. Most of the titles will be lowered with the shipping now being implemented so hopefully it doesn't make that big of a difference. At least now people will be able to see the actual unit price without having to factor in the free shipping which they usually don't anyway.

The cost to ship a 4 oz package, which is the weight of a single blu-ray, went from $2.66 to $2.96 (when buying postage online), so shipping went from free to $5 because of a .30 increase. If the price of all titles drop by $5, fine. But it looks like they stayed the same, which if true means you're just using this as an excuse to jack up the prices even further.

I don't think DF pays the lower rate. If I remember correctly, DD chose to use a faster shipping option. I figured that is why packages from DF arrive before I'm even back in the state to receive them.

No, he uses First Class mail, which generally only takes a few days to arrive. The faster option would be Priority, which he's definitely not using.

They should be paying a commercial base price and not a retail price. If they are paying retail prices then they're doing it all wrong. Either way the price increase wouldn't be anywhere near $5.

I have both versions of the film, as already stated, and they are not the same.

You comment about the MPPA being laid back is idiotic.

LAWMAN is on home video in it's euro cut,
which has material not present in the MPAA PG version. Many films fall into this catagory, some we re rated for home video, some slipped through.
Only an idiot would call that comment idiotic, films like Outlaw Josey Wales (graphic violence, nudity and rape) were rated PG. True Grit, (profanity, fingers being chopped off) was rated G. If that's not laid back, I don't know what is. Josey Wales and dozens of other PG rated films from the 70s would receive R ratings today, if they were re-rated. True Grit would at the least receive a PG-13 rating today. Lawman was re-submitted due to it's GP rating, which no longer exists, but it was the equivalent of a PG rating and it would've received a PG rating if it came out a year later.

Edit: Also, LAWMAN is the same cut, stop making sh¡t up. 99 minute cut originally rated GP, now R.
