Offerings is #55 on the Amazon Horror bestseller list currently, ahead of releases from many much more established labels which is quite impressive. So even if THTV didn't move units, Offerings sure did.

Because Dark Force in general does more than "skew negative." They're a complete disaster and it's the trainwreck aspect that keeps people here in a constant state of disbelief.

Let's recap:

Their House That Vanished release might not even be legal
They're pretending Kino did not distribute that disc because they wanted to see how Big Cartel sales alone compared to Amazon
Defended their edited release for several days before realizing nobody was buying their bull
Have since admitted to trying to drive up its scarcity
Publicly expressing a desire to cease partnership with Code Red

Now, suddenly all future Drive-In titles have been cancelled. Is that because it's too much trouble for them, or did Kino put the breaks on that endeavor because of the HOUSE debacle?

Either way, Dark Force is a mess. The fact that the label has basically become a meme in a very short amount of time probably isn't something they're happy about. I know I won't be buying anything else (only got Offerings, and I thought that was a Code Red disc). I'll hope someone like 88 Films gets KILL OR BE KILLED, because there's too many labels doing good work that deserve my money (like Scorpion, for example).

Maybe that "greedy foreign label that steals" will release a version of their own. They already have Offerings coming up.

Someone point blank asked him if they're ending their partnership. I'll be curious to see if they respond.

Well, for instance its ahead of Scream Factory's "Rockula" which came out on the same day, and Scream Factory sells big numbers.

Doubt it. If they actually expected a cease and desist letter why would they waste money shipping copies of THTV to screen archives to sell, and why would SAE sell it?

Nah, I think this is the classic Code Red OOP the disc people are complaining about ala Necromancy / Vampire Night's Orgy strategy again.

Yeh but the statement doesn't even make sense. If they wanted to get rid of Code Red, how does selling a bunch of Code Red movies with deals and retaining the Code Red partnership do this? If you actually wanted to get rid of Code Red, you'd cease selling their movies and break up the partnership, not the opposite.

DF definitely is reading this thread, so he is probably enjoying that it is stuck at the top of the forum with controversy.
