You got me curious with your random number generator, there, and how very angry you seemed that I would point out the illusion of Kickstarter, so I checked, for the first time in few years. Their success rate is still below the 50% I remembered. Actually, it is down to just over 37% now, worse than it was before.

As to the issue of a company opting for less profit in order to satisfy customers, I stand by what I said before. David shouldn't have done it. Giving up profits on unsold, un-bundled blu-rays, that would have sold eventually, if left in bundles, in an effort to satisfy those who insisted they needed the single-title option, for whatever reason, when those same people then turned around to complain about how much they hate Dark Force, was a waste of kindness, most especially when you consider that some of those bundles were with Bill's unsold Zombie Nightmare nightmare-to-unload release.

No one seemed to care that he did this for them. In fact, it seemed only to lead to more complaints and more anger. If people don't appreciate the effort, then nothing has been gained. Still, it remains an unappreciated kindness, even with me pointing it out. Often times, this board reads more like a hate group than a fan board where people gather to talk about past and upcoming releases and all the developments at the label. Again, one person has shown interest in the announcements concerning upcoming releases of Breeders, The Banker, Drive In #6, Drive In #7 and Ator, other than Ruined and myself. One additional person occasionally references Mirror Mirror as a title they want. And, of course, somewhere out there, I'm pretty sure there's a Mugaboo thinking on ordering a couple of those titles.

Where is the appreciation for the company? It's Bill 2.0, Necromancy all over again. These label owners are literally working to serve our interests and David has to be "Tom", or work with a guy named Tom, I don't even know, just to placate his label's "fans".
I’m sorry, you’re correct on Kickstarter — the 9% failure rate figure I found actually corresponds to the percentage of successfully funded projects that fail to deliver the promised rewards. Mea culpa on that. But you’re still on the hook for your laughable defense of Dark Force’s ridiculously rotten business practices. Where’s the appreciation for the company? Well, where’s the customer service? You know, being able to go to the online store, have it actually be open, and be able to buy a copy of a film we want without having to also buy one we don’t want? I repeat — any ire directed at Dark Force is richly deserved. If they want to avoid that, all they need to do is start acting like a professional reliable business.

Bye now.
You two might be talking past each other. Miribeau may be referring to this statistic where projects are deemed "successful" "when the funding goal has been reached within the given time limit."

https://www.statista.com/statistics/...-success-rate/

EDIT: Just saw your edited post.

I'll post it, since no one else will.... Also, will someone else do this sometimes? Where's Frightener? Probably sleeping like a responsible adult, which is what I'm going to do right after posting this.

Dark Force is making some kind of announcement about Breeders tonight, on the tail of having said it is coming out in about a week. I'm not sure if that means they'll be adding it to site early or if they will be announcing the specific release date or posting the prototype but, for those like me who are looking to buy this one, keep an eye on the Facebook page. They said they are making it in a hour, around an hour ago.

And, they just posted a sale announcement for Hide and go Shriek for 18.99 with a sort of Stay-Tuned thing. I still have to brush my teeth so....

Did that so.... Tom/"Tom" is going to make an announcement so, of course, people are talking about Ronin. If I couldn't be the face of my own brand, if I suddenly required a Tom, I would actually retire, and if anyone used my Facebook to hock someone else's projects, I'd probably go to war. So, there you have it, proof that David is nicer than Pollyanna.

I’m all for Dark Force releasing cool stuff and selling it via their online store. I just ask that they do it professionally.

The man in the room just yelled out "No S.!t!" You got him to yell the s-word, after bedtime. Freaking SWEET. Thank you.
Also, to Tom/"Tom"/David, it is late here. I stayed up too late and now am staying up later, because I'm not working so I'm not actually in California. Can we speed this up a little?

More often than not, the level of shilling and brown-nosing in this thread quickly turns the stomach. Wish Bill would keep all his films, fire this guy, and place them all on Ronin.

it was originally Ronin, but dark forces Dave offered $15,000 advance so he can press tiny 1,000 blu. I got out of hospital and bills to pay.

How are these three sentences any less self-indulgent and pompous than anything Miribeau has ever said?

It’s called being spot-on and funny, as opposed to Miribeau

Spot-on? Absolutely. Funny? Sure.

If the post was satirical and flew over my head, I apologize. But if not? It's a sad attempt at self-promotion at the expense of another person. Even if that person exists only to grate with fingernails the chalkboard that we all frequent.

Is DF's House on the Edge of the Park (On Drive-In #2) the same transfer as the Code Release? Or is it beat up like the upcoming Gates of Hell?

I compared both and the video is virtually identical. However the audio on CR is lossless vs lossy on the DF. Given the content though lossless makes no significant audible improvement, hence there is practically no a/v difference between the two releases.

Also to all re: miribeau talking about her negatively is just going to cause her to continue to respond to defend herself, so best bet is to not engage if you don't want to continue the cycle

Darkforce Facebook:

BREAKING NEWS! DEAD PIT COLLECTOR'S EDITION ON AMAZON FOR 129.95!
We have just received word that the DEAD PIT Collector's Edition blu-ray is on Amazon for almost 100 dollars more than our MSRP! Apparently Ebay is a bargain compared to this. Is this a good thing or a bad thing for the Dark Force customers that own this product? You tell us, we are not sure at this point. WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU! Would it be better if it showed up for 10.00? Now is your time to be heard. We will attempt to get the Demon and Banana Man together for a special LIVE FEED on the subject.
Best, Tom General Manager, Dark Force
*special thanks to Kire for alerting us to this listing.

Or, the best scenario, perm ban her. It's the only way to get things back on track. This is madness. Lots of people have been banned for much less offensive reasons

That's something for mod/admin to decide tho, not us, again talking about her is just going to result in more responses in defense.
