In fact, I long for a release where the discs are packed in individual cases, rather than the cardboard sleeves which terrorize me into thinking I may break a disc trying to get it off the spindle, or scratch it on the same as I remove it from the sleeve.

Luke was the only Jedi seen that could be seen as pure of heart. He didn't seek to kill Vader, but convert him back to the light side. All the other Jedi would have killed him, not offered him redemption.

If Max Von Syndow is rumored to be a character that was swallowed by a monster in the OT, that would be ridiculous. We heard it swallow. How about have the piggie guard survive the Rancor Beast where we also heard a crunch? It's as ridiculous as bringing back Darth Maul in the cartoon. It's okay for cool, awesome characters to only appear in one film. There's no need to give every cool character a back story. Fett got screwed - the bad thing about wearing cool helmets is that you cant see shit in your blind spots. Same as when the Storm Trooper bonked his head into the wall. Many of the Star Wars characters got screwed by being careless:

1. Qui Qu'on: wait for your partner to get through the laser doors before fighting a much more skilled Sith
2. Darth Maul: did you forget that Kenobi has Force powers and a saber is on the floor?
3. Mace Windu: dont expect to be saved by someone (Anakin) who hates your guts.
4. General Grievus: keep your chest area protected if someone is shooting a laser gun at your chest
5. Jango: guns versus sabers? come on. You are an expert assassin - you should know when a weapon is more powerful than yours.
6. Padme: you should stay away from abusive boyfriend and if you are pregnant, stay away from volcanic activity.
7. Anakin: After all that jedi training, he carelessly jumps into a saber, even getting a warning that it's a stupid move by Kenobi.
8. Anakin's mom: the douchebag jedi council couldnt chip in some money to pay off Sebulba to get her freedom? Very weird. Maybe Anakin didnt understand the slavery concept until he was a young adult in AOTC?
9. Jabba: if you are a huge lazy slug who can barely move, make sure to have more efficient bodyguards always around you.
10. Rancor Beast: who's good idea was it to have an open/close door button inside the cell? A prisoner could time it by closing it on his head...wait, oh yeah.
11. Emperor: crap, what happened to all those skills I had fighting Yoda and I cant counter being picked up? It must be the electricity rays - once you start, you cant just stop.

So yeah, Boba Fett's death is not some unfair cop out compared to everyone else's demise.

Toddly I know that the books are most likely not canon anymore but there are a few out there with the original Boba Fett in the stories. One of them specifically tell the story of how he survived the Sarlac. Heck if they can bring back Maul in Clone Wars animation which is Star Wars canon anything can happen. Wouldnt you want the most badass bounty hunter to roam the universe again and finally have his showdown with Han...his only prize to ever escape. Nice sub story if you ask me

only if Han and Fett could have a long one-on-one chat together in the Cantina bar with Han shooting first. Sort of like the diner chat with Deniro and Pacino in Heat. It would be a good final scene for Han Solo since he first appeared in Star Wars with a one-on-one with Greedo.

Far as I'm concerned, Maul died in TPM. Personally I don't care if a Clone Wars cartoon is officially recognised as canon, Maul's survival is ludicrous and a moment like that is why I am only interested in the canon of the actual live action films.

Well technically it was a 'burp', and the setup was already there..."you will be slowly digested over the course of a thousand years" implies very strongly the death process is very slow, painful, and far from immediate.

Therefore, the analogy of the crunched and chewed Gamorian Guard won't work.

His escape was done in the EU, and made some sense (he did still have his jetpack which allowed him to fly after all) and although the EU is rendered moot, it is still well within the realm of feasibility that he could get out of there.

I do agree with you regarding Maul though, there isn't any way getting cut in half and attached to a spider droid really works, IMHO. To me that's TOO much of a stretch.

I doubt they would show the scarred Fett running around after surviving 3 weeks in the Sarlac Pitt. Would be a fantastic story but this is 30 years later, and lets be real why would he wait 30 years to enact his revenge, sadly the time has passed for Fett to take revenge.

Sydow's character is supposedly scarred and part cyborg, so if he's Fett he didn't come out undamaged. Plus he may not be out for revenge. Han never "escaped" Fett. He was delivered to Jabba and got paid. From that point on it was Jabba's responsibility to look after Han.

Also (supposedly) one of the spin off films are about Boba Fett.

Lol, you can't suspend disbelief forever, eh? As I've been told, once you let logic take over, many movies just quit being as loveable. You've got to try to find the reason to accept what you've seen as truth. There's always a way.

Even if Boba survived the Sarlacc pit (armored protection accepted), how old would he be by ep7, in his 60s? Not being force sensitive, I don't think he's be much of a threat.

I don't believe Max von Sydow's character is likely to be Boba Fett. He and Temuera Morrison look nothing alike for one, they aren't even the same ethnicity. The age is another issue, Boba should be somewhere around his mid-60's by the time of The Force Awakens, von Sydow is 20 years older than that. Yet another thing is the 4chan guy apparently said it'd be a character from the prequel films, Boba would be considered more of an OT character by most I think.

I'm a bigger supporter of it being Darth Plagueis personally.
