I just know that it seems like everywhere you post there is rarely, if ever, anything positive at all. Is there anything you are positive about? There must be. Keep it real dude, but a little optimism never hurt anybody. J.J. has said before that he was always a huge Star Wars fan, more so than even Trek, and therefore seems the type who is going to do everything in his power to make it right. It'll still have its detractors when it hits no matter what the rest of the audience, including you and me, says. Likewise if most of the audience, also including you and me, do hate it it will still have those who love it. I hope it does live up to, or surpass, whatever expectations you have for it dude. I would like to see you on this board gushing love and sweetness around after seeing it. Just remember, the movie is still months away and we have yet to be given any significant details about the overall plot or the new characters. The teasers are freaking awesome, particularly the second one with that beautiful John William's fanfare, but they are just teasers there to wet our appetites for the main course. They intentionally don't reveal much. I personally applaud J.J., and Disney for allowing him, to take this road. It's become ever more popular for trailers to reveal everything up to a year out from release and it takes guts to do what they're doing with this. It backfired on Tomorrowland, sadly, but Star Wars is going to draw the crowds no matter what just for the name alone. I am actually glad I'll be able to see this film and be genuinely surprised by things.

All I'm saying is be cautious, I know what you're saying but really, the same thing happened with the prequels, exactly the same, pre-release.

Drew Struzan has read the script for The Force Awakens and has seen half of the movie and says it is "far and away probably going to be the best Star Wars film ever seen".

That moniker of 'best Star Wars film" will always and forever belong to A NEW HOPE. I don't care what comes from Disney over the next twenty years....

Nothing beats the original. It was a moment in time.

While that is good to hear, I take it with a grain of salt.

These early / private screenings general yield positive reviews. For example - the Fantastic Four had a private screening and people said the movie was awesome.

Plus, FA will have to go a long way to eclipse ESB in my mind.

Actually, Fantastic Four was met with skepticism from its early screenings inside the studio. Not very positive things at all. Struzan doesn't really have a horse in the race, so I'm glad he loves it as much as he does. That's a good sign, in my opinion.

Smart money says that Kevin Smith will get an early screening (he did with the Prequels) of FA.

Yeah but that was back when he was marginally relevant. Might as well give Charo a sneak too while they're at it!

An early screening that was hosted by Big Boi of Outkast in Atlanta, GA. The twitter reactions from the audience was mostly positive, and this screening was held literally a week from release.

Smart money says Kevin Smith will get more annoying and less relevant with every second that passes.

Smith visited the set, I'm sure he'll get a early viewing of the finished film.
