Yeah, some idiotic hatemongers started campaigning against the movie, deeming it "anti-white". The types of crap that some people spew...ugh...

Strange, I always thought Star Wars suffered from too little diversity.

Look at this image on the bottom right you can see what looks like Cloud City, so does that mean that Ren destroys the entire place?

True, but the original was a dud that nobody wanted. Fox took it after every other studio passed, the theaters didn't want it because "sci fi is dead", opened on about thirty screens. And then a few weeks later, it took off. (Saw it opening day with my dad. There were only a couple dozen people there. Don't think that'll happen this time...)

And yet when Lucas tried adding some, even with humor, they branded him a racist. You can't have it both ways.

Instead of IMAX, I went with AMC Prime Dolby Cinema.

That plinky piano motif seems to have replaced the "BWAAMMMMMM" thing in trailers, they use it on Spectre as well.

Oh, that trailer reminds me: HYPERSPACE IS BACK, BABY!!!!! Of all the decisions Lucas made with the prequels, leaving out the streaking stars effect was absolutely criminal (yes, I know they still went in to hyperspace but we never saw the effect first-hand, Lucas said he wanted to leave it for the OT). It's one of Star Wars' most memorable visual touchstones IMO and is something which makes even the Clone Wars cartoon feel more Star Warsy than the actual prequels.

Funnily enough, it looks very similar to what JJ did in his Star Trek movies when the ship goes to warp. Those flicks are such Star Wars wannabes it hurts, but that's what makes them enjoyable in a popcorn blockbuster kinda way.

Of course my luck-
I stay up really late for the trailer. Then I stay up a few more hours to try to get tickets unsuccessfully. I tried to get tickets this morning at school, but the network blocks checking out with purchases. I get home hours later, and it's sold out. Now I'm stuck with a stupid 10:25 ticket. I've been to several sold out shows at this theater, the most pathetic IMAX screen ever, but the only one within 3 hours. Fandango.com and RegMovies.com say its showing is sold out. Movie Tickets.com still has tickets on sale, so they definitely exist. Great way to ruin my birthday

I just downloaded the HD 1080p trailer.

Trailer looks great on a cell phone or a tablet or a laptop, but play it on a 100+ inch screen and the sets begin to look very boring and carboardy/lifeless CGI filled to me.

The acting also looks, how can I say this appropriately?

forced :P

I'm sure it's gonna be better than Phantom Menace though. Have fun everyone I dunno if I'll go unless they force me too haha!

Some people like average...I dunno.

I know and have never denied the flaws of the pequels, the bad dialog, poor acting direction and silly characters. But I have just realized another big mistake with the prequels: except for Tatooine, there are almost no familar characters, designs and environments in it. No Luke & Leia, no Han, no Empire, not enough humans, no familiar planets, no Millennium Falcon, no X-Wings, no TIE Fighters, no Imperial cruisers or any other ships from the original trilogy. We only get to see some near the end of Episode III, almost.

Me? I just love everything Star Wars, I consider myself lucky to not have any hate. Episode VII, bring it on.

Yeah it was also prevalent in the Jurassic World trailers as well.

But is it John Williams playing the plinky piano?

I actually appreciated what Lucas was going for there, saving something "new" for the OT when you watch them in chronological order. But now we're back on the "right" side of the OT and can indulge in those neat hyperspace effects again.

Ptsch, the trailer for Eyes Wide Shut beat them to the punch 16 years ago.

I personally liked the BWAMMM trailers, they made me feel it. Kinda miss the 00s though, when all the trailers seemed to have opera scores in them.

I know, that flick cornered the market with annoying plinky piano music. But it's come back around again, not just in trailers but in films too. Saw something very recently which had a similarly plinky music score as EWS, can't for the life of me remember what film it was though.
