I agree. It helps that, even if the rumors are true and he doesn't show up until the very end, we know that we'll see a lot more of him in the next two.

It's 1999 all over again. Everyone building it up to be the biggest opener ever.

It won't come close to $200 million. It'll be lucky to break $150 million.

My theaters aren't anywhere near being sold out.

Calm down, media.

Anakin being from Tatooine - Why? And also, why Jabba the Hutt? Was it really necessary to have him in the PT?

Jawas and sand people - Why? Totally unnecessary!

Lucas made his universe much smaller in the PT with the constant foreshadowing and OT character cameos.
I think we all agree the prequel trilogy should have never been made .Except for seeing the Star Wars world again on the big screen, it was a disaster. With apologies to Darth Maul and the Duel of the Fates.

A company in my town dropped $12,000 for an exclusive company viewing party across two screens. Honestly with what I am witnessing and how many tickets I am pre-selling, I fully believe that number is in the realm of possibility.

The reason I said that was kinda supported by that scene in the latest trailer and the fact that Harrison Ford seems to have softened up a lot about his "Han needs to die" comment. It kind of makes sense since Harrison seems to be having more fun playing the scoundrel this time around and the fact that it also makes sense to have Chewie sacrifice his life for Han since Chewie's family would be duty bound to keep that life debt oath back when Han saved Chewbacca from the Kessel spice mines back when he was a slave for the Empire.

Personally, I think that Lucasfilm should do a movie detailing how Han Solo saved Chewie's life. It could be incorporated into that Han Solo movie that has been talked about to death.

Nice company to lay on a screening like that. Clearly, business is a-boomin'.

Dude... seriously... you are either the biggest troll or just a really grumpy person. You're ignoring the IMAX numbers the internet crashes and the fact that it's sold out nearly every where else two months before release (apparently not where you live tho) and just pissing and moaning because you hate JJ Abrams.

I've NEVER seen anything like what's going on with The Force Awakens and I'm 47 years old and one of those folks who camped out back in 1999 for the Phantom Menace... this is even bigger than that. People are even more jacked for this one because it looks and feels like what we all loved about the originals (original cast is huge). I've been approached by folks who aren't big time movie goers worried they won't be able to get tickets... again... I've not seen this much excitement for a film ever. Is there a chance it sucks? Sure... of course. But I'm extremely hopeful that it won't and quite excited for just how awesome it might be. In other words... I'm thinking 'positive'. You should try it......

I was watching those stupid Sphero BB-8 toys on amazon this morning. That's £130 for a silly looking remote control toy*. At 9am, they had 20 in stock, by 09.18, they'd sold out. I've never seen anything like that. This is before a lot of people even know they want one. This movie is going to be insane.

*of course I bought one.

I think that about sums it all up. The possible unvailing of our favorite Jedi at the quarter-end of a film, that could live up to the original trilogy, will be quite something. Especially hearing the theater crowd once Luke is seen on screen for the first time, or maybe once we see Luke fighting within a lightsaber battle I can't wait.

As for now, I am avoiding seeing, or hearing everything related to this film from the studio until opening day, and then from there, I'll only see this film. I haven't seen the newest trailer and I'm not about to anytime soon. Hollywood, the Internet, and Cable TV will "over-market," and "over-advertise," the hell out of this thing for the next two months

Oh it will. Avatar was a movie for today. SWTFA is a movie for today, yesterday, ..your parents,..and yesteryear for your grandparents who took your parents to see Star Wars when they were kids. That's three generations looking forward to this movie. That's a huge audience and at today's prices...big bucks. Avatar came and went...does any one care about Avatar 2..nope...but SW episodes 8+9 are already in production.

I was told once... however I was still spinning over the fact that a company dropped 12,000 for a movie. All I know is that it's 18th that they have reserved.

Someone posted the extracted audio, but here's the trailer with no dialogue - just the music. It's beautiful, and it actually works just as well with no dialogue.

While we've had little to go off of... which new characters do you think you're going to like the most?

I already like BB-8. I think Rey will become a favorite, Finn too. I like the bit at the end of the final trailer where he has this "oh crap" look on his face. I don't need every hero to be a major B.A.M.F.

Part of why Indiana Jones is so great is because he gets tired, he gets whooped, he reacts... he's human. I like that Finn doesn't seem to be this "I'm not afraid of anyone" character - he looks scared when Kylo Ren comes at him. It also makes you root for them more because the hero is visibly worried, so you get worried too. You don't go into it thinking, "he'll take this guy out without breaking a sweat."

Yeah, I said the same thing... then yesterday I dropped forty bucks on diecast starship models. And that Millenium Falcon quadracopter is really tempting, although it probably wouldn't survive my cat.
