I am quite ok with it being the first option. Again, I have to emphasize that ANH did't tell you anything about who anyone was. In a sense both stories told you the same. In ANH we knew nothing about Vader but a little about Luke, in TFA we know a little about Kylo Ren (who his parents are) and nothing about Rey (other than her growing up on a desert planet). I think people are being too critical of the missing backstory of some of these characters. It took us two whole movies to find out who Vader was and 3 films to show you his backstory.

[Show spoiler]was sent away when Kylo Ren and the Knights of Ren wiped out Luke's Jedi Training facility. Or Luke was the one who dumped her on Jakku? The Force surrounds us, binds every living thing together. Luke's lightsaber called to her. Which was odd...but okay. The Force spoke to her when she was calm in the interrogation chamber...even when Kylo was trying to crush her mind she eventually calmed down and pushed it back at him. She

is the new chosen one.

im pretty sure i recall a disney castle before the lucas film splash... or was that for a trailer....

here with assigned seating, the theatre wasn't packed at all, empty even until 5-10mins before showtime, and that was due to people buying food at the concession, everyone was already in their seats

all showings were sold out, yet i had empty seats around me. I think some people bought an extra seat so that they wouldn't get squished, which is stupid since the seats are so wide here

My showing didn't have anything Disney before the Lucasfilms logo.

When we went in at 5,30 pm to wait for the 7pm showing in 3D,there were already people queing up for the 8pm show

How was the sound for this movie? Was it in Dolby ATMOS?

No atmos at my cinema,, but the sound was superb
Few times throughout the film my eyes watered up

Gives you something to watch till next star wars comes out.

Unless you expect the movie to be the best one ever,you are in for a treat.It went back to the roots in the good way.But I guess you've gleamed as much from this thread

Dont get me wrong, its still a great movie, but it ends up being more of a reboot than an Episode 7.

If this is the Level of (un)originality we would have gotten had the prequels been directed by ppl other than Lucas, than I am forever grateful that Lucas had the balls to take the helm himself.

I wanted to love this movie so bad... ended up being disappointed on so many levels.

After seeing this, Lucas deserves a lot of apologies from A LOT of people. There is no way people can shred the prequels to pieces and not do the same to this movie because it is a colossal mess.

It's in ATMOS where avaliable. Check to see if your cinema has it first, might not be in every screen.

It was better than I thought it would be. And I had no choice but to see it in IMAX 3D anyway if I wanted the expanded frame for the scene with the Falcon and Tie Fighters.
