Artistically, yes, but Carrie Fisher is simply not going to look that way no matter how much surgery she has. Nothing against Ms. Fisher - people age and gain weight as they do. But she's not going to look like that unless she's all-CGI.

In fact, no human is going to look like they're portrayed. Those drawings look like they took the original images from the existing films and gently aged the characters in Photoshop. But that's not the way these particular people have aged. Ford probably looks the best, but he now looks quite old as well and makeup is not going to change that much.

Movies have a way of locking in our images of people, but Return of the Jedi was made 30 years ago. I looked pretty damned good 30 years ago....I look like crap now and most people I think I look way younger than my actual age.

For the movie, I don't have a problem with that. I think an interesting aspect of a potential story is how people change as they age. Most people become more conservative as they age and aren't as driven as they once were, if only because of hormonal differences. Does Luke still believe in the Jedi way since presumably, he's the only one? Is Han still a cowboy? Is Leia still a fighter or does she just want to lead a quiet life? In humans, hormone production decreases over time. While I suspect Disney will drop this entire subplot, do midi-chlorians decrease over time? Etc.
