Anakin/Darth Vader had his 6 films so now let Luke have his six.

Do you actually think Luke is going to be in all three of these upcoming films? I'm thinking he, as well as Han and Leia, are only going to be in Ep. VII to help usher in the new young cast.

You are probably right. I have no interest if that is what is going to happen.

I love the OT as much as the next guy but I don't necessarily want to see Luke, Han and Leia centrally featured in three more movies.

Besides, who knows if Harrison Ford could even survive three movies

I am sure the new films will be massive successes but if they are just about a new cast of characters it is going to be like the prequels for me all over again. I guess I can just hope and pray Disney releases the UOT on BD.

Hamill will be in all three. The other two, who knows. But I'm pretty sure Luke will be a big part of the whole trilogy.

I'm pretty sure that was wishful thinking on his part, but wishful thinking, I think most would agree with!

I think there's little to no chance Luke kills Han. Sounds way too dark for Star Wars, and would sour a lot of the older fans right out of the gate.

As always, just rumors, but you might want to skip this if you want to avoid (possible) details.
I love the idea about Luke being able to effortlessly move large objects. It would be a great mirror to the X-wing scene in ESB, showing how powerful he's become.

EDIT: Also, following what other users have posted, it would show that he has become more powerful than any Sith or Jedi before him. He is the first pure Jedi that we have seen in the saga, uncorrupted and very strong with the Force. It would be great to see that potential realized.

If the prequels had been released first, you might say the same about the original trilogy. Obi-wan is just there for the first movie to nudge some 19 year old kids out gate? Lame

+1 for UOT on BD. I'm very confident that it's on its way.

What, like how Anakin blew up the Trade Federation control ship in Phantom Menace? Fans don't generally react well to such accidents.

More than fistful thinking. It just makes sense. There's going to have to be some components of the OT left in full through the new series. Going as far back as the ROTJ, Hamill talked about he knew he'd be part of the next trilogy if Lucas ever made it. With how bent Abrams and Kennedy were to make sure that Luke, Han, and Leia were all a part of this new series, and with all the old indicators, I'd say if anyone was going to stick all the way through, it would be Luke. Especially if this stuff about him being part of the dark side is true, which also slightly falls in line with what Hamill has said before. It would be a redemption story for Luke, and a way to keep him all the way through with the new cast. It just makes sense.

Even if he is, I don't think he will be the central character. He'll be the Kenobi of the younger Jedi.

He doesn't need to be the central character. But that's much different than outright saying he won't be in any past Episode VII. I think that's more wishful thinking than saying he'll be in the others. At least one of the main three will be in all three films of the new trilogy, and if it's going to be anyone, I expect it to be Luke.

not to mention Ford's role as Han is apparently pretty significant in Ep VII. Certainly the formula of "I've got a bad feeling about this" must be in play. One of the major characters will get axed in Ep. VII. I'm guessing Han. Sure Luke can end up DOA, but he can come back as a Ghost in the next 2 chapters. But they can throw the audience off all together and all three characters have a nice arc and closing within the next three episodes. Vader could be used in flashback, but resurrection nope, Remember Luke burned his corpse in Jedi.
Either way this movie is going to be huge and so freaking cool to see the X-Wing and Falcon on the big screen again in the actual sequel trilogy!!!

I think it's more wishful thinking on your part, and others, that he will be in anything past Episode VII. :P

Do you really think they wouldn't keep one of the main trio somewhere through the new trilogy? I mean, really, think about that...Obi-Wan was in every one of the prequel movies, and every film in the OT. I expect the same will be done with one of the trio here. Again, all signs would seemingly point to Luke being a character throughout. Not main, but around, just like Obi-Wan was. With Hamill's comments, past as well as recent, and Kennedy and Abram's insistence to giving them bigger parts in the new one, they're going to be used throughout. The possible spoilers really elude to much as well. I'm just saying, don't be surprised if Luke is seen throughout the whole trilogy, even if it's in a minor capacity. Hamill is only 62, he's got plenty of mileage left to continue through, especially with how quickly they're going to shoot these.
