It could. Easily. But I'll get it out of my system. I saw Attack of the Clones three times during its run, it didn't kill me.

Gonna be sooner than that. No way they keep the lid on this film until the 17th of December.

Not saying they'll cut it, but a PG would get even more bums on seats. Probably will be a 12A though.
Even in the States, it's harder to sell a PG-13 flick as the family movie destination of the holiday season. Would think Disney would've pushed for a PG, and that JJ's reverence for the OT would make him skew that way as well. I mean overall the rating is not a huge deal, the movie just needs to be good. This is gonna out-gross most small countries' GDPs anyway.

Guessing some of Palpatine's not so subtle advances at Anakin may have also influenced the PG-13 rating.

Especially seeing as the Premiere is on the 14th and then it's released on the 16th in a load of places! But yeah, probably even before that.

They don't think Star Wars is real, the Jimmy Kimmel skit is a recurring feature on his show...he gets people on the street on camera to talk about the news, asks them fake questions, and they start lying trying not to look misinformed about current events.

That's not always true; if you really think Obi-Wan wasn't afraid of Vader both on Mustafar and in the Death Star, you're nuts. Being afraid is a natural response to many things, but allowing that fear to dominate you is what Yoda warned against.

It's fear of loss that's the issue, not fear in general. (Remember that Yoda's famous speech comes directly after he says "afraid to lose her, I think" to Anakin when the council are grilling him about his mother in Ep I.)

Yoda was very smart, but sometimes, he wasn't very bright. Telling Anakin to completely detach himself from all he feared to lose was a big part of his descent into darkness. You could tell in that scene, Anakin wanted to tell Yoda everything...but he was scared of losing both Padme and his "family" in the Jedi Order. Yoda's advice in that moment was horrible, which is why I like his statement in the novel so much: "Change the Jedi Order did not, because let it change, I did not." By the time Luke shows up 20 years later, Yoda's become much more balanced rather than extreme.

True but who's to say it won't. We'll have to wait and see.

It's all quite noble how it's been filled in after the fact, but he still basically tells Luke to let Han and Leia die in Empire, we don't get any waffle about "attachment" but the meaning is clear. Obi-Wan doesn't seem to have changed much either, he certainly doesn't believe that Luke's love will be able to bring Anakin back in Jedi.

I always thought he meant that quitting his training to rush in and help would be disastrous as he would be unprepared for Vader. Also, using the force to alter the destiny of Han and Leia, rather than being " attached " to them.

Not mutually exclusive.
