Has Lucas ever said anything truthful, interesting or not vague?

Yes, but only about 98% of the time. His opinions about 40s filmmakers are particularly insightful, imho.

Seriously, what's with the Lucas-bashing? Without him, we wouldn't have the Star Wars universe. So you don't like some of his artistic choices? Tough gundark, please feel free to create your own fictional universe that is more to your liking and where only you get to call the rules. You guys deserve to live in a parallel universe where Lucas literally never existed at all, and nobody created Star Wars, and 70s cinema was limited to the works of Scorsese, Coppola, Brian de Palma and William Friedkin.

But Vader/Anakin doesn't fall back to the Dark Side, and decides to help bring down the First Order while turning Luke back to the Light. Would mirror the Luke redeeming Daddy arc of the OT (JJ loves his "homages").

Either way, I'll be really happy if he ends up being Plagueis, simply because it'll mean they're not totally throwing out the PT. But it will be odd for some people in the audience to automatically know who "Snoke" is while everyone else has to find out. Hope there's not some long, explanatory scene of "remember when..."

EDIT: and don't forget, Geoff, all the new movies are fan-fiction; can't rule out anything, no matter how absurd
I'll be glad if Plagueis is in TFA because like you said, it would not totally disregard the prequels, infact it would be a solid link and would tie in with the likely plot about the Skywalker bloodline. He would be regaining his strength (presumably) and after the demise of Sidious and Vader, lured Kylo Ren (I reckon - Han and Leia's son/Rey's brother) to become his apprentice along with the Knights of Ren as Kylo's henchmen.

It'll be interesting to see if Hayden Christensen is in VIII and whether he actually has a small part to play as a force ghost or is in a flashback.

I admit I haven't really been following star wars news too much. Don't know if any one has seen the movie yet, but hopefully Harrison Ford is in the film longer then a quick 5 minute cameo. I'm a sucker for the old school cast the new cast doesn't interest me. They just look bland and boring. I could be wrong on that but seeing the trailers and promo photos I'm not feeling it from this new cast.

That's some clickbaity crap right there, dude. Nothing against you, I'd just rather people didn't support sites that run paragraph long articles surrounded by ads, where the headline is 'FAMOUS DIRECTOR SAYS ANOTHER FAMOUS DIRECTOR'S WORK IS 'A PITY'!!! then you read and it says 'Oh it's a shame he's not making independent movies.' Don't link to that crap.

Nothing against you Terminated, but your fluff article "news" posts are not necessary.

Anyways, I realized that Return of the Jedi is the only movie who's opening crawl ends with a 3-dot ellipses whereas the others have 4 dots. Just an interesting trivia fact.

Better to be a has-been than a never was like JJ. If guys like Lucas and Spielberg hadn't been so innovative, JJ would have no one to steal shots and ideas from. Besides, he said the fans will like it - what else do you want? His liking or disliking it shouldn't matter to you, he isn't involved in these anymore.
