Star Wars: Episode VII is the sequel of the century. Despite three unpopular prequels, fans have regained their love and enthusiasm for George Lucas' sci-fi fantasy franchise. All of that goodwill was recently resurrected by Walt Disney Pictures, who are now promising a new film every two years, indefinitely, starting in 2015.

Fans aren't the only ones excited about the prospect of more Star Wars movies. A lot of actors are throwing their hat into the ring, wishing for a role in this highly coveted space adventure. Robert Pattinson recently came forward, saying he'd play Jar Jar Binks if it meant being a part of this sprawling universe. Now, Lost Boys actor Corey Feldman, who got his start working for Steven Spielberg in such classics as Gremlins and The Goonies, wants a piece of the action.

"More than anything, I want a part in that new Star Wars franchise."

When asked if there was a particular role he'd like to take on, he said he is lobbying for a role as Han Solo's son, due to his resemblance to actor Harrison Ford.

"I think that is a great idea. No one knows what they have in mind yet, or what they have in store for us...But what I would like to see in the development of those next three movies is that they bring back all of the original characters, as they are still alive. And you can make them the older generation. Then, whether its their kids, or a bunch of new young soldiers, or Jedis, or warriors...Whatever it is, I would certainly like to be a part of that new young brigade that they are going to bring forward.

I think Harrison Ford's son is a really great idea, actually. Fans have always said that I would make a great Indiana Jones, a great Young Indiana Jones. We look very similar, we have the same type of bravado. The same character persona with the whole Edgar Frog thing. It is a good fit."

Is Corey Feldman out of his mind? He doesn't think so.

"I do believe that belief is the most powerful thing we have in this world. So, if we believe in something enough. And we have faith, we can make it a reality. That is basically the basis of my entire career and my entire life. I am going to really send a lot of positive energy to...Here, these are the three topics at hand...Let's get Corey in the new Star Wars movie, lets get Corey back as Donatello in Ninja Turtles with Michael Bay, and lets get Corey back to reprise his role as Tommy Jarvis, to make the fan anticipated sequel, above all, Friday the 13th Part XIII: Jason Vs. Jarvis in 3D. That is what I'm pitching."

It's clear that everyone would like a piece of the action. Though, Corey claims he knows one person not excited to return in Star Wars: Episode VII.

"I'll tell you who doesn't want to be a part of that cast. I can pretty much guarantee that Anthony Daniels doesn't want a part in it. "I'm 90 years old now, I don't want to walk around in a robot suit anymore. I'm done with that!"

Do you want Corey Feldman in Star Wars: Episode VII? Who do you envision taking on this expanding universe? Let us know if this sounds like a great idea, or a not so great idea. George Lucas is listening.
Star Wars: Episode VII comes to theaters in 2015
are they tring to get vampires into Star Wars now?

Leonard Maltin wrote that when Star Wars hit in 1977, heads spun at the Disney lot, because not only was Star Wars a film the studio could have made (Lucas himself even referred to it as a "Disney film", though not in a admiring way), the pressing issue was that a film such as Star Wars was the sort of thing the studio *should* have been making. The studio had become lazy and complacent.

So the studio tried several attempts to make their own "Star Wars", and more "grown up" features, but these failed at the box office, and one of the greatest issues was the Disney brand name. Because of the complacency, and knowing they had a built in family audience that would show up for damn near anything, the studio had lost it's way in the live action division and had become lazy, and bereft of ambition. This is where The Black Hole, Tron, Dragonslayer, Return to Oz, and The Black Cauldron came from, to say nothing of a short-lived run of more adult-oriented films, such as Never Cry Wolf, Tex, Something Wicked This Way Comes, The Watcher in the Woods, and The Journey of Natty Gann. Other than Tex, all of these disappointed at the box office. And so, the "Touchstone" label was born under Eisner and Katzenberg, so the movies would not have the Disney label on them, so teenagers would actually give the films a shot.
That's very interesting - I didn't realise that Star Wars spurned so much change in Disney. I suppose that this was always going to be the conclusion, then - with Star Wars meaning so much to what is arguably the greatest children's entertainment company ever, Disney was always going to try and buy it in the end.

Something Wicked This Way Comes is one of the strangest and creepiest films I've ever seen, but it's brilliant.

I think the whole article can be condensed down to that, and those points pretty much describe Feldman's mental state right now. I doubt one person has ever said that he looks anything like Harrison Ford (and, even if he did, that doesn't automatically mean he should play his son if that's how the story went). No one has ever said that he should play Indiana Jones or have anything to do with that series, and the only person who has told him he has the same bravado is probably himself in the mirror.

This, kids, shows what drugs can do to you - don't use them, or else you'll end up like this washed-up actor, using new film announcements to try and get your name in the papers again.

If you asked Corey Feldman, he'd probably tell you he could do it in his garage for you real quick.

"It'll only take a moment, I've done this loads of times. It'll be ready any second now...no, I lied, I can't make you a copy of any blu-ray. This is a toaster, not a super converting machine. Sorry."

This is like when Eminem wrote a letter to WB wanting to play the Riddler in the new Batman when the Riddler was rumored to be in it.

Is the part about Anthony Daniels true though? I hope it isn't because it just wouldn't be Star Wars without him. Hell he was one of the few positives about the prequel trilogy.

Anyway, couldn't he just provide the voice work and have another actor portray the physical movements in the suit? I mean its always worked for Darth Vader from the start.

Anthony Daniels has been one of the few constants in Star Wars. From the movies to games to the toons.

I'm sure that he'll at least voice C-3PO if he appears. Even if they have someone else in the suit. Or CGI the character.

We've already seen that other people have managed to nail his mannerisms for the most part. TC-14 in Phantom Menace.

Its good to hear he has a good track record with keeping involved. It really isn't the end of the world if someone else does the stunts in the actual suit because as you say, others have proven they can emulate his style quite well, he just must provide the voice. That's an extremely important detail to C3P0.

Ya know - the one thing that Ive lost sight of here is that should Disney fock this up, which they certainly could, its easy enough to just dismiss the new film(s) and pretend they dont exist and are not part of the Star Wars world. I mean, there are six existing films that have a very clear story arc and a well done finishing act, IMO. If EP7 is butchered then so be it. We can just cover our ears and yell "la la la la" to ignore the whole thing. If there was on;y one or two films then it'd be different and we'd be jonesing for more. But, six films gets me my fill of SW just fine. Sure, I WANT more and more and more...but not at the expense of them being truly good.

Much like I do with Alien & Aliens where I only watch and "count" the first two films and thats where it ends for me. Or with Indy Jones where TOD is skiped and discarded.

Or, how the SW prequel haters probably just watch the OT and then end it there.

No worries

Super SW fanboys & pixel analysts, I'm convinced they are, both, never happy until they have, completely, picked everything apart in the search for flaws.
Good news for them, if they scratch the surface hard/long enough...they are bound to find some.

Man is imperfect, therefore the works of Man are imperfect. Some of Man's works are more imperfect than others. But the beauty of the human condition is that we keep striving for perfection, keep reaching to improve, and only through examination, analysis, criticism, history studies, and imagination do we learn and move forward. Criticism is natural, in other words, and it is, when all is said and done, a good thing.

That's my point, we don't learn. The same discussion we being held about LD, then DVD, and now BD. It has nothing to do with learning, but more to do with one being happy with what one has.
Some people will never be happy until they find flaws...now that's human nature, unfortunately.

Not to turn this into a philosophical discussion but isn't perfection in the eye of the beholder? To say "some of man's works are more imperfect than others" is completely subjective isn't it? I personally think that Pixar's "Brave" is a better film than "Up!" Though many on here would emphatically disagree with me!

Yes, but try to find one reasonable person who would argue that MANOS THE HANDS OF FATE is a better film than UP. An extreme example, sure, but there are moments when a subjective consensus indicates an actual reality.

I think you mean that people should have learned to be happy with Greedo shooting first and all the other issues by now, and that's never going to happen. When the topic comes up, people will express themselves. You might not like it, it might bother you to hear SW criticized, you might be tired of it already, but that criticism will exist as long as that goofy alteration exists.

I don't hear anyone complaining about E.T. anymore, because Spielberg listened to the criticism, and gave people what they wanted. Lucas, though, takes the tact that eventually everyone who saw the original films will die out, and future generations won't know what happened. Any surprise people remain upset? Every time they see the movie, it annoys them. That's why the criticism hasn't gone away - because the things that annoy people haven't gone away.

What you say is very logical, and perhaps we'll see if it ever happens...but my point is even IF all those things get fixed in the film, there will always be those that will still find something wrong. Some people just like to complain just for the sake of complaining.
Especially when it comes to Star Wars! Mark my words in 2015
