The most ironic thing to me is that George Lucas released statements saying "This is the movie that the fans wanted" and "To me, Star Wars was always about family", when the truth is, TFA is a better movie about family than George Lucas could ever write or understand. I don't like to come across as a Lucas hater, because he has given us so much, but I've had 30+ years to realize that the guy is a great story pitch writer and producer, and a terrible script writer and director of actors. The films speak for themselves.
Exactly. Prequel fans like bluyoda must prefer their movies to be devoid of any authentic emotion, well written dialogue, snappy, witty comedic timing, exciting and skillfully composed action, I could go on and on.

I enjoyed TFA even more on the second viewing, and am already dying for Episode 8. Bring on May 2017!

Fortunately, my mid-sized town theater was only about half capacity for the 10pm show, and we were mid-way in the line, so we got a good row but off to the center-side of the isle. Maybe a 150 people in a 300'sh capacity theater.

I think what you meant to say was "I like all 4 of the Star Wars films"

Because remember there's only 4. The 3 prequels that clearly exist don't count.

For anyone wondering how the converted 3D looks, let me assure you that it looks great. It had lots of depth.

Same here. My city is notorious for dumb ass movie audiences. There are always teens and early 20s who feel that it's their solemn duty to engage in running conversations throughout a movie, or to look at their damn cell phones frequently. Yesterday morning, however, the film grabbed the audience (a mix of younger and older folks) as soon as the Star Wars theme and logo started and didn't let it go. Everyone was glued to the screen, buzzed or lightly applauded when the Millennium Falcon, Han, Chewie and Leia showed up and laughed heartily at the jokes (there were a lot of very funny moments). The only other recent time that I can recall such a well behaved group was when Into The Woods opened on Christmas day in 2104. The audience was great which, for a musical, really shocked me.

John Williams isnt in the best of health. From what I remember hearing, somewhere, he underwent surgery earlier in the year. Or something like that. So maybe he couldnt give it %100 or didnt have the usual amount of time to come up with a fully polished score. Since I havent yet heard it for myself I will reserve judgement.

So I guess we are led to believe she made her way out of the Trash Compactor...this is on the assumption she went in the trash compactor!
Even then, it was mentioned that
[Show spoiler]Hux was killed. Kylo Ren is obviously dead. Unless somehow his was retrieved.
Like another poster said, there seemed to have been a lot cut out in the third act.

Yeah, that was one thing I noticed, the film didn't seem to feature much new in the terms of iconic Star Wars themes. No new Imperial March, the soundtrack was kind of a disappointment.

All the editing seemed quite chaotic, like they chopped a three hour down to two. Maybe there will be good deleted scenes, or less likely, an extended cut.
[Show spoiler]"We got two minutes to clear out of this base!", then suddenly they're running two miles out in the snowy woods.

I would have given it four and a half if I could but I couldnt give it a five. Most of my problems were with the script similarities to previous films and large knowledge gaps in what has happened between Jedi and this film. Very enjoyable tho and liked the practical based effects. Also found the Daisy Ridley character the best thing in the entire saga.

Not really a negative aspect of the movie, but did anyone else feel this movie was lacking memorable movie quotes? Like, the Original trilogy and even the Prequels have quotable lines that I still use today. None of that was present in this movie.

Incredible movie. I find it odd and kind of abnormal how anyone could not like Star Wars.

I'm almost shocked someone would hate it that much to be honest. When it comes to the people who love the prequels and hate this movie(or were hating it from the beginning)it truly shows their love bias towards Lucas. Kind of say really, I felt this movie was a great addition to the Star Wars sage/universe.

The problem was they rehashed so many old references into dialogue that it about made it impossible to leave any original dialogue that would become a memorable quote.
[Show spoiler]Is anyone going to remember Han for his EPVII, throw Phasma in the trash compactor joke?
