I would give one of the new films to Neill Blomkamp.

glad i am not the only one who thinks that. i am calling bs on this anyways - what was the conversation? when movies are being done, there are tons of "conversations" that take place that are not real. what stops you from doing a Star Wars movie just because you are doing Star Trek? conversation was probably

"hey JJ, we are thinking of doing a new Star Wars movie. what do you think of that?'
"sounds good. good luck"

Not sure why some people think this is bad. Not as if the Marvel series turned out horribly.

Has a contract with Star Trek 3, eh? great news!

Anyways, Samuel L Jackson apparently wants to be in VII:

There's only one way I wouldn't mind seeing dead characters appear in Episode VII...

If the Jedi Holocrons or Jedi Archives come into play somehow. Like recordings being used for training purposes.

If they expand the number of people who can manifest as "Blue Glowies", it would kinda diminish Obi-Wan, Yoda, and Anakin.

You might as well expect this at some point. Luke established the new Order and he knows how to become one with the Force so most likely he will spread this knowledge. The goal of a Jedi is to become one with the Force so I would say a Jedi wouldn't hold knowledge back that would allow other Jedi to attain this level of oneness with the force. Force Ghosts aren't a special club. It was just knowledge that was lost, and rediscovered by qui-gon. He taught Yoda, and Yoda taught Obi-wan, but no one said it was a special gift that only certain people could learn. It is up to those with the knowledge to spread it, and those who are dedicated can learn it. Yeah, in the 6 current films only a few learned how to do it, but in the course of a franchise that spans many films over many years expect more to learn this ability. This is a franchise now and things that were once of importance will take on new importance in a much larger tapestry. Obviously, I don't thnk there will be an army of force ghosts, but any main Jedi character could become a force ghost.

It's gonna be interesting seeing some people accept and some lose their minds when notions and ideas they had about the saga are shown in new light and turned on their head later in the franchise. I made that mistake with the prequels, but I won't do it again. I'm gonna take it one film at a time, and forget any preconceived ideas of my own about the saga and what I think is important.

A good shout.

I would suggest C Nolan, M Vaughn as possibles.

Knowing Star Wars fans luck, we will get Brett Ratner.

If that happens then you can write the entire series off going forward. Ill just pretend its a 6-film franchise. Or, better yet, if you need more SW then just tackle any of the fine novels that take place after ROTJ - there is some great stuff in there.

The beauty of it already being a complete franchise is that any additional films can be discarded and wont be missed if they suck. As it stands, the saga has a beggining, and end, and a great story-arc for multiple characters.

Thank goodness its not a 2-3 film franchise that never had sequels or prequels or this whole situation would be a lot scarier. For now, they are free to screw it up and Ill just ignore them completely. Kind of like I do with Alien 3 and Resurrection: They simply dont exist.

Been there, done that.

And I am referring to the Original Trilogy alone.

I just realized that it's possible we may see Hayden Christensen in this new trilogy as a Force Spirit.

Disney, put the original footage back into the end of VI and find yourself a Shaw look-a-like!

Damn! After all the Star Wars news flowing like wine earlier, I'm surprised there's still no news of a director being named. I wonder if Disney has approached directors already, only to be turned down. Either that or they're in fierce negotions with who'm ever they want to head up the project. Something must be up because it really shouldn't have taken this long.

I know Lucas has sold the rights but seeing how he must know that people hate Jar Jar, the "Noooooooooooooo" and Hayden Christensen as the force ghost I am sure all three will make an appearance.
