Why did they speak with a mid-western American accent then? Makes no sense!

Because then all the haters would be screaming "plot hole!! Uncle Owen doesn't have an Aussie accent in Episode IV!!"

I phased out collecting Star Wars 3 3/4" a couple years after RotS. But these have me excited again.
They finally took a hint from Marvel Legends, eh? About time! I want a fully articulated Salacious Crumb!

Agree with the coolness.

But yeah, fan made. Maybe a real poster late 2014? I wish it was real. My mind is coming up with all kinds of ideas as to where it's leading. JJ, hire this guy!

Any thoughts on titles?

A New Darkness, or something. A New (insert negative), seen as everything is not okay after VI.
Return of the Sith - Too much like the last one, but perhaps very relevant. Does a Star Wars movie (an episode) need Sith? Time will tell.
Jedi Academy - I reckon parts of this trilogy of books will make it into the film. There must be more, even if only a few, Jedi who must be trained. Maybe if not a whole academy full, then Jedi Apprentice, or Jedi Offspring or;
The Next Generation - probably shouldn't though...

Maybe. It's a completely different thing once you're given the director's job because ego takes over and one wants to put their own imprint on it. So even though Lucas himself wrote a prequel story that conflicted with the OT, Abrams might violate the original concepts even more. Young kids coming to Star Wars for the first time might not care, but the fan base will crucify him if he attempts to reboot what we already know.

What I do like about SOME of Abrams' work is the emphasis on relating the stories and characters to history, literature and philosophy. The problem is, he includes all these great puzzles and references, but in the end, they don't go anywhere. But since Star Wars was always about the great myths of the ages, Abrams could have a positive influence on the next movie. It's hard to believe it would be worse than the PT, especially the first two films. My main concern is that the tight timelines until release date just might turn this into a disaster. It might force them to spend all their time on the sets and special effects and too little on plot and character development. If it's just a bunch of space battles with some boring Hollywood actors, it will be a disaster. The problem is that regardless of what it is, everyone will want to see it to judge for themselves, so it will make a ton of money regardless and then the 2nd film will be even worse.

I'm sure there are others that I'm not thinking of.
Only 3 of these guys are Americans (Jackson, Lloyd, and Smits).

If it makes you feel better, Ahmed Best is American.

But I guess it's no different from the OT. The only Americans were Hamill, Ford, Fisher, and Williams. I guess you can count James Earl Jones too.

Speculation, just for fun.

I usta run a website during the prequel releases that did this. We made a few accurate predictions, just 'cause Star Wars has this distinct feel and story progression that most fans are fairly in tune with.

Speculating the title is also speculating the substance of the film, which many of us are doing. And we're at a time with little to no information, and almost 3000 replies in this thread, I was just putting it out there for anyone who wanted to join the fun.

Kinda like the guy who made the poster. It is 100% uninformed, but speculates possibilities of the story. Let's have fun until late next year when we know something. Wait! It's Star Wars... and it's JJ! We'll probably have some concrete details in April, 2015.

I doubt it will be that since Disney is going for "fresh" material, I hope it will be excellent so the attempt at a trilogy could potentially become another 6 film saga for us. Not to mention after all these years, SW is still my favourite film franchise of all-time and I'd like that to continue to be true.

Wow! That's excellent! It sounds so Star Wars-y! Amazing it hasn't been used yet! Lol.

Joke aside, your post makes sense. If we go with a Grand Admiral Thrawn angle, showing remnants of the Empire alive and well, Star Destroyer captains not wanting to give up, and young soldiers who devoted their life to service and now... what? These characters truly are living in the Shadows of the Empire.

In fact, now that I think about it, in my head this title makes more sense as a story from after Return of the Jedi, and not before it.

What about 'Guardians Of Peace'? It can be about the new Jedi order established by Luke and can be a good throwback to the "Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice" line by Ben in Ep IV.

I think it'd be great if they put Luke into a role like Obi-Wan in A New Hope. At this point, age wouldn't matter, and it would make perfect sense. He could have an apprentice, whether it's his own child or someone else. At any rate, I can't wait for a bit of insight into the plot development of this film.

Oh man, this could very interesting!

In all seriousness, it will be great to watch the first teaser trailer for this! Man I can't wait! Takes me right back to the late 90's then the teasers for Phantom Menace came out:

"an interruption in Communications can mean only one thing: Invasion!"
I know the prequels are not that popular but I certainly enjoyed the time leading up to Ep.1's release!

So how long is it until Disney remakes Episode IV in animated form, with its classic characters like Mickey and Donald? Cast the Disney version...

Thw wife and I were just talking about that, as our 2yr old loves the Disney channels. It will be interesting to see when you might see, say, R2-D2/C-3PO standing in a scene with other Disney Channel characters(Mickey, Donald, Jake, Octonauts, etc) as a quick one-shot during a commercial.
