I think what he's trying to say is that Lucas didn't develop Padmé very well, but that lies with Lucas' ability to write a good script.

Had another writer have been involved, then I'm sure that Natalie and Hayden would have performed better. I remember watching Hayden's casting audition, and I thought he was really good, and Natalie had already proved herself in Léon.

Harrison Ford coming back sounds...depressing. Didn't anyone see Crystal Skull? That movie had a good director too (the original director) and it still didn't turn out well. I would rather see Mark Hammil come back because he still wants to act, he still wants to prove to the world that he has talent, and he would put his heart into whatever role he's given. And I don't want to see a fat old Princess Leah. Didn't anyone see Margot Kidder in Superman 4?

How would Han Solo even be presented? If he's an old version of his bad-ass self with him chillin with Chewbacca in the Cantina Bar, it would be pretty sad. Ever see old dudes in a bar? Ever see old hippies? Ever see old rockers? It's depressing. And if he's some changed man - some cleaned up respectable senator or general, it would be weird to see Han awkwardly standing around with some other old senators. I'm hoping Kasdan and the director can make him look good. I'm hoping that Abrams acknowledges that the only moment in all the Star Wars prequels that had continuity with the same look as the original trilogy was this scene here:

If this proves to be true and he comes back to score the next 3 movies, I will be jumping for joy! What's a live-action Star Wars movie without his epic scores?? And with Harrison Ford coming back, things are looking good so far for these Sequel Trilogy films!

If John Williams was healthy, there never was any other real option to score the movies. Disney will not make the same mistake that Warner is making with Man Of Steel.

Star Wars are fantasy epics, not nature documentaries.

The right combination is the best way to go IMO.

well obviously some elements will have to be digitally added but I really think it is very important to have actual shooting taking place in real environments like the original trilogy (and even a lot of episode I had) .

We don't know it's a mistake yet. Williams can only do so much and then his mantle must be passed on to another composer - he sure as hell can't keep doing every score he's made famous for every film forever.

But this is great news about him returning.

I'll never get this obsession with using the Williams Superman theme in Man of Steel. It's specific to that interpretation of the character, with the exception of the Ruby/Spears cartoon. Kirk Alyn and George Reeves didn't have that theme. It wasn't in the Fleischer shorts. They didn't use it on Superman: The Animated Series.

They didn't use the Elfman Batman theme in the Nolan films either. If you want to hear the Williams theme watch one of the many films that feature it.

Fisher would be nice to have, but not necesssary IMO. But Hamill...gheeesh, what a clown.

And I'm as big a fan as they come.

If I were Hamill and Fisher I would make Disney pay. The films are going to make billions of dollars and then even more in toys and crap. I hope that all three make cameos at least.

Probably.
But if you look at it from their point of view, it's a valid question.

The studio will be tempted to overpay Ford given his "megastar" status, and will probably try to give them 2nd rate (3rd rate even) salaries based on their "professional resume".
Given the importance of their characters, I do not see any reason to underpay Hamill and Fisher compared to Ford. My 2cps.

His 20+ years of voice acting contradicts that statment. Its also interesting you call him a clown, because his best known and most iconic voice work is the Joker. The laugh and personality of the Joker was all but built by Hamill. The man hasn't exactly been living in his mom's basement living off the wonder years of Star Wars. He is more than just those films.

As for questions, he is 61 years old and has been a voice actor for the majority of his career. Does this look like a man quick to get in shape? Most likely he is deciding whether he wants to put in the physical work and whether his body can handle it.

He can't do this forever (Williams). Now is the time to move on

After that last article I retract about the new direction thing.

THIS BLOWS that Harrison Ford is coming back as an OLD Han Solo.
