The Han Solo adventures was the comic I spoke of. Never read it even, but it's summed up in the Han Solo Trilogy, and it seems I'm mistaken in it being a comic and not a novel.

I did read a Dark Forces comic though, and played something like three video games in its series, and forgot the whole thing in my list. Forgive me, I'm getting old...

I knew of the Jedi Apprentice series, never read it, and was thinking it was post-2000. Thanks for clearing that up. And I've never ever heard of Galaxy of Fear! Interesting title, do you recommend?
Splinter was surprisingly good but had some inconsistencies in it. Nothing to really detract from the story though. Galaxy of Fear was just bad. It was alright through the first couple books and then it just lost track of a story.

Important to all the fans that read and enjoyed the EU books. Which, by my guess, is quite a few!

There are some really great books that go into much of the CW and movies.

Shadows of the Empire: Takes place between ESB and ROTJ and details what the main characters were doing to help Han. Even discusses Luke's attempts and eventual success in building his lightsaber (awesome part by the way )

Truce at Bakura: Literally takes place days after ROTJ ends, and illustrates how the Empire is still very much a threat even after the Emperor.

Courtship of Princess Leia: Brings in Dathomir and the NightSisters (Clone Wars)

Jedi Academy Trilogy: First begins to discuss Luke's path in reforming the Jedi in the galaxy.

And the stories just keep going and are just amazing. There are alot of books, but the majority are definitely worth reading.

I wouldn't mind Disney doing Star-Wars animated films based on these books ala how DC Animation does the Batman/Supes films.

I also recommend the Heir to the Empire Trilogy (happens after ROTJ and features a really interesting villain in Grand Admiral Thrawn) and the X-Wing series (follows Wedge Antillies and Rogue Squadron after ROTJ, and is a good read!)

Those are outstanding reads. Also make certain you read I, Jedi Which is a great take on The Jedi Academy Trilogy from Corran Horn's point of view. He is a really interesting character.

They are all good books. There are a bunch of them, but all worth reading.

Haven't rad the Jedi Academy Trilogy (I hear good things about it, so I may pick it up!), but I liked I, Jedi

If you enjoyed I, Jedi, you will like The Jedi Academy Trilogy. It introduces a great character; Adm Daala, a terrific villain with long term issues lol.

Also, if you liked Thrawn, make certain you get to Specter of the Past and Vision of the Future. Won't give anything away, but you will enjoy this storyline as well.

I loved Rogue Squadron series Duffy, it would make an awesome animated series.

Since we're on the topic of EU books, I've only read the Thrawn series(and loved it). Does anyone know if they've reprinted many of these into large "Volumes"? Or any type of recomendations along those lines?

Forgive me for not wanting to sort through 24k+ "star wars book" listings on Amazon.

Well I know they released an all in one book for The Jedi Academy series. Rogue Squadron is about nine books in length and The New Jedi Order series is about the same. But there also a bunch of stories told in one book, Courtship of Princess Leia, Truce at Bakura, Crystal Star, and Tatooine's Ghost are great examples. Specter of the Past and Vision of the Future are composed of two books. But really you should try to follow them in order, as there are some aspects revisited in later books. Plus there really isn't a dud in the bunch.

I have to ask Star Wars fans... Would you ever want to see someone else wear the Vader gear? Maybe like a young sith rise and wear the suit?

I doubt the old fans would like it, but I think it would be bad a$$ to see an updated Vader fight, or even just do a movie in between the OT.

I'd like to see Darth Malgus brought ~3k years into the future and see HIM on the big screen!

Thanks so much for the tips. Perhaps this weekend I'll scour Amazon, with the help of the "timeline" posted earlier in the thread, and see what I can come up with.

It would make sense to have a Vader movie that takes place between Episode 3 and 4 but, you are right...as an old fan, I don't want to see Darth Vader ever again on the screen - enough damage has been done.

It would make sense to have a Vader story between episodes 3 and 4 because that would really be the Vader origin story - how he became the Vader we know from the OT after so much of his physical body was destroyed and before he became the power he was in Episode IV. Since you'd probably never see his real face, it almost wouldn't matter who played him as long as they knew how to move as long as James Earl Jones still voiced him.

I say this because there's a lot we don't know: did he become the Vader in Ep IV because he wanted to? Because he felt he had no choice once he was physically destroyed? Because he felt allegiance to Palpatine? Because Palpatine forced him? Because he was promised to become a Sith Lord? You could in theory tie Vader's rise to the story of the rebels that doesn't contain any of the major characters we already know.

I mean I just want to see the power we always hear about on the screen taking place. I didn't care for the yoda fights but it was awesome seeing the little guy do work.
