Maybe I don't see enough new movies anymore, but where are the young actors who are the equivalent of DeNiro, Hoffman and Pacino in the 70s? Are there any?

Come to think about it, take "The Godfather" and transpose it into the Star Wars universe and you'd have a really great movie, except instead of battling Mafia families, it would be about the Jedi vs. various enemies.

I don't mind Gosling, but there is no denying his over exposure at the moment. Part of the appeal of Star Wars (for me) was seeing fresh faces. I mean, Jimmy Smits was probably the biggest name in the prequels at the time of his casting. Sure, Neeson had a nice dramatic career going and Portman and McGregor have gone on to greater success, but they were hardly household names in 1997... and certainly not frontrunners for "Sexiest Human Being Alive" like Gosling and Efron. When you see their faces on every rag mag at the supermarket, it's hard to be enthused about them joining your favorite movie franchise. Again, this is my personal opinion. Star Wars is one project where you can take a risk by casting talented unknowns and still have a license to print money. Seeing these names (like DiCaprio, who I find very overrated) on shortlists for the leads just feels, I dunno... boring? A tad disheartening?

I could see him in that role. I actually like him as an actor. He makes some bad films almost enjoyable by being in them. Plus his voice would fit.

Not sure why people hate Zac Efron..is it because he was in disney crap? well everyone has to start off somewhere. he would be a good fit for a cocky Solo kid or the son of Luke Skywalker.

Yes, he was great in Pitch Black. He would be great as a Bounty Hunter too.

DDL's well-deserved 3 Oscars would disagree with you. IN fact, since he's the only actor to win 3 Oscars for lead role, I'd say he's one of the best ever. Not that Oscars are criteria, but they get it right sometimes.

Now, if they'd just case Jennifer Lawrence as Solo's daughter, the film would be shaping up nicely, and bring in twice what the prequels made, because females would have a reason to go.

He's not awful but just such a a pretty boy. I would rather have Gabourey Sidebe as one of Luke or Leia's kids

When I see a movie I want to see a character and not "oh look is Bruce Willis/Tom Cruise/etc. doing their usual schtick in every single role they play". D.D.L. is the perfect actor. Doubt the guy would be in a SW film though.

Anyway.....Godling = good actor. Effron = don't his acting chops but he would make a perfect-looking Solo kid.

He could easily pull of doing a live action version of some of the Sith Lords from the Knights Of The Old Republic series. It's probably because they're mainly buff and bald lol.

Could you imagine if he was cast as a Jedi or Sith? It would be hilarious. Well unless he was playing a sith cause then it would be terrifying. He would walk around choking people.

It'd be similar to the Darth Vader in Night at the Musuem: Battle of the Smithsonian where he tried to choke Hank Azaria and it did absolutely nothing.
