I can only hope that Disney present the IMAX scenes as they were for the BD release (much like the IMAX optimised scenes in Tron Legacy). For some stupid reason, Paramount didn't bother to do that for Mission Impossible 4 or Star Trek Into Darkness.

Well, that just ain't gonna happen. Not only are IMAX cameras big and heavy, they are also loud. And I don't think the director has the time or patience to ADR and foley the entire movie just for that.

It doesn't matter to me. I don't think it was any kind of intentional pattern, either. Heck, it's not even a "pattern". Looks completely coincidental that the movie titles start with one of three letters.

Looks like Saoirse Ronan has confirmed she auditioned for Episode 7, but she hasn't said if she got the part or not, sworn to secrecy I guess, haha!

Well what a relief for Abrams, no matter how completely boring, blandly written, emotionally unengaging the film is, put some rust on them spaceships and it's "great" Star Wars

The setting can easily make or break a good movie. I agree with the first rule. Give Star Wars the correct setting.

Yes, because the original trilogy was always at the opposite spectrum of cuteness.

That youtube video has got to be one of the most stuipid things ever created. Some people just do not get it.
Take his "rule" #2. Make the ships old looking. (like the first triloigy). Why can't people figure it out? During the prequals, everyone had money and everything was new. After the emperor took over and the Empire was founded, everyone became oppressed. Stifled by the Empire. Its roughly 20 years between EpIII and IV. 20 years of neglect from an oppressive government and a world were people gave up on luxury.

I think that could be best described when they first show the Millenium Falcon in Episode IV. What we, as an audience thought was a cool, unique looking spaceship, Luke described it as a piece of junk.

I think this could also be applied to the Empire, as their designs seemed to lean towards fascist architecture (a style that is constructed with simplicity and symmetry, with a lack of oustentation in its design). This is most notable in the Death Star. A giant spherical object with an indentation that houses the planet destroying laser. Simple, sleek and without pretention.

Not to mention the fact that in the PT you had space ships designed by totally different cultures, different races of beings who's planets were separated by light years!

Default Daniel Day Lewis in Star Wars VII?

Not sure if it's been posted before, so feel free to delete if it has.

I don't really buy it (like, not at all, but I admit weirder things have happened in Hollywood), but what do you guys think? Would be great? Or seem possibly out of place?

The Hollywood trade press is abuzz with speculation about the Oscar-winning actor's possibly being approached to star in the seventh installment of the sci-fi saga.

According to Latino-review.com, Daniel Day-Lewis was seen having lunch with George Lucas and with Kathleen Kennedy, the producer of the forthcoming film. Other than the identity of its participants, there is no indication that the meeting was a discussion of "Star Wars VII."

The actor who brought Lincoln to the screen in Steven Spielberg's biopic is the latest in a long list of celebrities who have supposedly been approached to join "Star Wars VII." The Hollywood trade press has also cited Ryan Gosling, Zac Efron, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, Benedict Cumberbatch, Alex Pettyfer, Michael B. Jordan, Liam McIntyre and David Oyelowo as possible participants in the film, although none of the rumors have been confirmed. The 19-year-old actress Saoirse Ronan, however, did reveal that she had auditioned.

Few details have been revealed regarding the plot of "Star Wars: Episode VII." The film will be set 30 years after "The Return of the Jedi" (1983) and will focus on the destinies of Luke and Leia Skywalker's descendants. Director J.J. Abrams will begin shooting the film, the first in a new trilogy, at the end of this year. The film is slated for release in December 2015.
Did they have lunch? Sure. Chances of DDL appearing in a Star Wars? Probably 0, but who knows?

DDL: "George, you're 100% sure you won't have anything to do with the new trilogy?"

Lucas: "Yes I am positive."

DDL: "I'm in."

It would be a dream come true if Cauron and Blomkamp directed the next Star Wars films.

Did you mean Alfonso Cuaron?
Neill Blomkamp did say in an interview that he turned down the opportunity to helm Star Wars to work on his own projects. That's a very noble thing to do. Though I didn't really enjoy Elysium.

I thought this was coming out summer 2015? December doesn't fit SW films. They're summer movies.
