Well since the last three were all released in in the summer and they suck hopefully moving the new ones will mean they will be fantastic. I really want these to be great like the OT.

Technically they came out in the Spring.

Episodes 8 & 9 still can, then it would be 2 out 3...then we could say "I told you so".

Avatar 2 comes out in December 2016, not 2015.

You're overthinking it. He's making fun of the idea that the month the film is released in has anything to do with how good it will or won't be.

Like I said in the other post, screw tradition. If it's not going to work out being released in May 2015, would all of you rather have them finish the film and shelve it until May 2016 just because?

I can understand why some people are disappointed that it's a break from tradition but considering that mid-December slot will have been home to three Hobbit films in the preceding years and will be home to three Avatar films the following three years then it's clear it's a very good release date for big films. After all, it didn't do the original LOTR and Avatar films any harm.

At least now all the fans can start their countdowns - 770 days to go!

how is it delayed? we never had a release date to begin with. from all reports, it seems to me that he is already working very hard to make sure he meets this release date.

Avatar smavatar... Avatar doesn't have 30+ years of fandom and I think for the most part it has already faded from the movie going conscience. I didn't see the same excitement when Cameron announced he started working on multiple sequels.

Avatars spectacle was in the 3D and visuals. Story wise..: eh it was essentially Dances with Wolves in space.
