Well, terrible might be the wrong word. It's just so damn mushy and cheesy. I mean, it's well done, I suppose, but I really thought George could have done without so much cheese. Luckily, we got Across the Stars from John Williams. Man, I love that theme.

I forgot that nugget .. wonder if that has ever been adressed / responded to?

Not sure who wrote those two specific scenes .. but what a way to both paint yourself in a corner and ignore your own logic just because it'll make a cool scene.

Actually to be fair though those are 2 different situations. For one Maul was egotistic and this allowed Obi-Wan to get the better of him. Obi-wan was able to pull a move that actually surprised Maul because Maul's ego didn't allow him to see the potential in that move. And it was a quick move too, which allowed Obi-wan to pull it off in the first place.

Anakin on the other hand didn't have that luxury because Obi-Wan knew what was going on and he knew the situation he was in. It allowed Obi-wan to counter Anakin's moves the same as Maul should have only Obi-wan was in the zone where Maul wasn't.

That's the one. never mind the fact that 7 and T really don't look alike, what happens when 8 and 9 are done?

Elandyll, this is JJ we are talking about - logic has no place in his movies. He probably has a rip-off, I mean homage, to that scene planned out already

OR, in both cases, the good guy won.

You guys love to throw this card out every single time there's a discussion about SW's changes but not one person has ever said anything to this effect. It was a terrible rebuttle 15 years ago and it isn't any convincing in 2014. But this has been a horse we've flogged into the afterlife, so no more from me on this topic.

Also, if you watch the moment in TPM, Obi-Wan kind of screws with Maul with the force for a split second before he jumps up. Maul makes this WTF face. It's kind of funny really.

I don't buy it. That scene never sat well with me. Obi-Wan lands and then slices Maul in two. Maul had ample opportunity while Obi-Wan was flying overhead to slice him in two. He doesn't even attempt to raise his lightsaber in self-defense. He just holds it off to the side so Obi-Wan has clearance to kill him. Lame.

It was almost as bad as Palpatine cutting down three Jedi Knights/Masters while fighting a 4th.

They did the same thing Maul did.

I think the reason why Maul just stood there was because he was shocked that a padawan was able to summon all that force energy to fly up in the air.

Watch the look Obi-Wan gives Maul and then Maul's reaction. Obi-Wan clearly used some kind of force mind trick on Maul to make him pause for a moment.

Three new young leads confirmed.

"It has also been confirmed that Star Wars: Episode VII is set about 30 years after the events of Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, and will star a trio of new young leads along with some very familiar faces. No further details on casting or plot are available at this time."
