That's the way it was written and thats the way it should've been. If you're happy with the poorly scripted love story and it being the reason for Anakin to flip out and kill younglings, great.
No, Vader said "You don't know the power of the dark side. I must obey my master." And this was in response to Luke telling him to let go of his hate.

The way I hear that - and in my opinion, it's the only way to hear it - is that Vader is saying the power his master wields over him, the power of the dark side, is so great that he can't come back to the light side of the Force. He's in too deep.

Regarding the power to rule over everyone, Anakin does seem to feel that he knows best and several times in the films this is revealed in what he says. He says it in Attack Of The Clones where his ideas are referred to as a "dictatorship" by Padme.

In Revenge Of The Sith, he says he "wants more and [he] knows he shouldn't".

In The Empire Strikes Back he offers to rule the galaxy with Luke.

I think it's quite clear where his ideas for a dictatorship come from. Palpatine has been working his head ever since the end of The Phantom Menace and we know Palpatine becomes the ultimate dictator.

So, as you say, "that's the way it was written". So it's all there - attachment, fear of losing the ones he loves and the political ideals of his friend and mentor, Palpatine.

Why have you opted to make the so-called apologists sound like idiots and the so-called disgruntled fans sound so much more articulate?

If someone is going to turn to the darkside, I'd prefer if its Han and Leia's daughter and not their son. Have her kill Luke's wife Mara Jade in Episode 7.

A female antagonist has been on the cards since The Phantom Menace and eventually arrived in the form of Asajj Ventress in The Clone Wars. To have a female baddie in something as high profile as the new film, though, would be an interesting new wrinkle.

I'm not aware, though, of Mara Jade being in the new film or even if Luke has a wife in the new one. Certainly George Lucas has said that he would never have had Luke get married in the third trilogy but I don't really know much attention Disney and their lackeys will be paying to George in the new films.

OR, some people just like the films for what they are. Not choosing to get involved in some decades old stupid arguement, of which, they have absolutely no control.

Wishful thinking since I'm a fan of the character. She probably wont be in it if they are sticking to Lucas' long time plan of having Luke in the Obi Wan role. But it would be cool if she still gets referenced as someone Luke once loved and saw die during his adventures since ROTJ.

Thank you for saying that...I don't think you'd look like you did when you were 17-21 years old when you reach 57...

never said I would. But I also would not think people would look at a picture of 57 year-old me and say "he looks good!"

Carrie looks better than she did, agreed. Let's move on...

LOL! Question is why say something about it in the first place? LOL! If I see Leia at that age and I'm sure with the makeup and all, she'll look good for her age on screen too!

Yeah...moving on!

Well, you started it.

Face it, you said a shitty thing. Remember, beauty is only skin deep but ugly goes right to the bone, something you've already proven.

Principal Photography has begun on Episode VII

Quote:
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter's Stephen Galloway on April 2, Disney Studios Chairman Alan Horn revealed that "Star Wars: Episode VII" has already begun shooting. When asked what was the most difficult part of supervising the movie, Horn responded "casting," but quickly confirmed a little later that the casting process is nearly complete. Naturally, when asked if he could disclose any names or details, he simply replied "no."

Horn also discussed the difficulty of putting together the script. "It's all about the screenplay. Screenplay, screenplay, screenplay," Horn said. Discussing how it will be 35 years since "Return of the Jedi" debuted once the new film hits theaters, Horn said that the screenplay was co-written by Lawrence Kasdan and J.J. Abrams, following an early draft by Michael Arndt.

Horn closed out this segment by stating in a Yoda voice what should be the motto of the film's sluggish rollout: "Patience, you must have." Watch the chat below.
