Star Wars is about the past anyway ("A long time ago") so it's a historical film. Everybody thinks the past is about horse carriages, plague, and huts?
The genre title doesn't matter. You can call it sci-fi or you can call it fantasy or you can call it an Adventure film. It doesn't matter especially when all of you have grown up with video stores that classify their sections into "fantasy/sci-fi". If this is all about an OCD person that decided to separate the two categories on your shelf, then you are going to have a bit of trouble organizing your films on the shelf.

The fan-coined "May The Fourth Be With You" slogan gets its first major boost of exposure when the London evening news uses it in a half-page congratulatory note to Margaret Thatcher, who had just won to become Britain's first woman prime minister.

Absolutely.

To me, the whole concept of the force makes it "fantasy".

Problem with Star Wars is that the first 3 films are fantasy for the most part - the lightsabers are never explained, the force is pretty mystical, etc. But when Lucas tried to explain things a little in the prequels and make it sci-fi, people flipped out. I don't feel that the force itself makes it fantasy - ESP and such would explain it somewhat. I think it is fantasy based more off the fact that it is set so long ago yet more advanced, you have everyone speaking thier own language yet they understand each other just fine, plus the things like the force, lightsabers, etc. Add them all up and it is fantasy.

I always thought Star Wars was sci-fi/fantasy. Didn't know it had to be exclusive to one or the other.

Not really in outer space, in an exogorth.

The exogorth, colloquially known as the space slug, was a gigantic species of toothed gastropod. They were silicon-based lifeforms that survived in the vacuum of space by making their homes in the caverns and craters of asteroids. They fed on the minerals of asteroids, various stellar energy fields, mynocks (another silicon-based lifeform), ships, and other unfortunate creatures that unknowingly passed into its mouth. The average adult space slug grew to about 10 meters in length,[2] however there had been instances of near-kilometer long specimens.[2] Some slugs were known to continuously grow to sizes that rivaled capital ships in sheer bulk, with some weighing over a million kilograms.

Star Wars VII Title?

Source:AICN

Quote:
Hey folks, Harry here... in response to my article earlier today a new source has come forward to confirm information that I've been sitting on for over a month. As I've said - getting confirmation has been a *****. I know lots of people in JJ's camp - including JJ... but when I put the title to JJ... he never even responded. That alone was suspicious. But my original source had told me back in January that Abu Dhabi was a location, and when that came to be, he sent me a scoop that the title for STAR WARS EPISODE VII was THE ANCIENT FEAR.

I ran it by everyone in the editorial chatroom. Beaks, Merrick, Quint, Capone... everyone... and they rattled their sources cages - and couldn't get confirmation... BUT tonight... a source that I'm told to call Col. Mustard claimed completely on his own that "the working title" was THE ANCIENT FEAR....

He also stated that "it refers to Max Von Sydow's villain who makes Pazuzu look like a *****!"

Now - let's see what happens to the working title. Personally... I love it!
