Unless my sarcasm detector is broken, I think you need to grow up a bit. Ford, who is now 71, apparently has major damage to his leg and you don't heal as quickly as you age. It's not a bruise or a sprain - it was a break and he's in a cast. In the press, his injury was described as his leg being "crushed", which implies to me far more than a simple fracture. I'd like to see you "walk off" getting your leg crushed. It's not even clear whether he's in a walking cast or not. If he's going to need PT, that implies to me that either his knee or the joints in his feet are severely injured.

Ford is no wimp. He apparently kept working after suffering a severe back injury riding an elephant during the making of the 2nd IJ movie.

What does Avatar 2 have to do with Star Wars VII? They probably wouldn't want to release both in the same two-week time period, but they certainly can be released in the same year or even in the same release season. Why can't two major films be released in the same year?

Frankly I'm surprised that they don't rewrite the film and reduce Ford's role. But once he begins therapy and is actually walking, he can probably continue the physical therapy on location, so maybe it won't be the six months delay that they're talking about now.

If Ford isn't available for six months, they can release this film Summer of 2016. In fact, they can release it on May 25, 2016, the 39th anniversary of the original.

Abrams always wanted a May release. I think he pushed the door over onto Ford on purpose.

It took IGN five days to pick up on a story Lucasfilm already called BS on? Pathetic.

Yeah, because everyone will be so busy watching Episode VII that Avatar will be completely forgotten. So a blessing in disguise of sorts.

It's when these filmmakers gained more fame, power, did they start turning out mediocre movies. People are most creative under extreme pressure.
Titanic was pushed back like 6 months from its original release date, and some of those older ones were made at a time when release dates werent announced or set in stone before a movie was finished.

I totally get what youre saying, just maybe not the best examples

Either way, Regarding Harri is going to get on the juice.

I prefer a pushback.

I don't care when it comes out... I just hope I don't die a horrible death before I get to see it.

Seriously is Ford a main character? I was hoping for more of a supporting role as an admiral/advisor.

Nobody knows, but of course that hasn't stopped people from pulling speculation out of their butts.

Pushing it to 2016, I wonder what Disney's plans are for Pirates 5 now.

Sssssh, Sean might read this!

As for the Star Wars delay, it's a shame but I think 2015 is pretty overcrowded anyway, so it's nice to see Star Wars returning to a May release. I do hope Harrison Ford recovers soon.

That's pretty much what we've been hearing for a while now. Solo is the main lead with the new cast. Which is why him getting hurt is disrupting the production so much.

I'm not sure what to make of this. He isn't even a Jedi Knight who always control the main lead of any SW film.

Maybe because Harrison Ford is by the far the biggest star in the cast and plays one of the most popular characters in the entire saga. Also, and this is just speculation on my part, but I wouldn't be surprised if Han doesn't last very long in the new trilogy. If that's the case, give him a lot of screentime early on before he's "retired"(to borrow a term from another Ford character).

Agreed. Just purely speculating as well (I'm actively avoiding story/plot info), but I would not be surprised if Han is the central character in the film because he will not be in Episodes 8 or 9.

I bet Han will kick the bucket, but I'm curious to see if Carrie still has the acting chops, or did she ever have them, to cause the audience to mourn Han with her?
