Calling someone a liar and claiming to have public documentation of these lies does seem hyperbolic when refering to a filmmaker discussing plans for a franchise, though.
I think you're missing his point. The lies - or historical revisions, if you think the l-word is too strong - stem not from the fact that his plans for the saga changed over time but rather from the fact that it seemed like every time his plans changed he went to great pains to say that the changes in plan weren't really changes in plan because he meant to do it the new way (which wasn't really a new way) all along.

Case in point: the saga was not always the story of Anakin's fall and redemption. Anakin died - not died from a certain point of view, just plain old died - in the earliest drafts of the Star Wars backstory. The saga didn't become all about Anakin until well after it started.

Is that kind of back-pedaling the end of the world? No. Does it make him a bad guy? No.

It is kind of fun to poke at though.

Roger Moore Confirms 'Ice Planet' in Episode VII

Actor Roger Moore, known for his role as James Bond, recently visited the set of Episode VII to meet with J.J. Abrams. Moore recently made an appearance on a BBC broadcast, and claims that while he was visiting the Star Wars set that the team was filming a "something with a lot of mountains and snow." Moore's statement supports a rumor discussed earlier this year about the crew filming scenes with Chewbacca and Stormtroopers in Iceland.

When the BBC asked Moore for additional information, he admitted that he was "assigned to secrecy," and couldn't share anything else. Is Episode VII revisiting Hoth or venturing to new icy planets?

Yes -- he's going to Base Jump off an AT-AT with a parachute designed after the British flag.

Or could this be the planet where the Jedi get their "crystals" they use for their lightsabers seen in the Clone Wars cartoons? That would be cool.

Oh, I was thinking of the original Imperial officer corp. That is an awesome commercial though

Roger Moore is an actor, not a speech or accent coach. People that teach or coach actors on linguistics are much more qualified for that task than simply having said accent.

Nah, I get his point , and I agree that it's fun to poke fun at (he had a love triangle involving siblings for goodness sake). My point is just that people take it too seriously, as if nobody's ever stretched the truth when promoting a movie before and that Lucad has somehow been "got". Maybe Lucas' "always intended" is everybody else's "literally."

Hoth, huh? Can't say I'm surprised, but I can't imagine what they'd do with it.

"Mountains and Snow" doesn't necessarily mean Hoth...they had mountains and snow in Fellowship of the Ring, too. High mountain locations are something we haven't seen yet in the Star Wars films, and that's my guess.

There *was* some recent location footage shot at the original locales used for Hoth, but not by LucasFilm for SW7...a research team for an upcoming SW video game journeyed to the original locations used for the films to shoot background plates and research materials for use in the game, and this confused people, leading to Hoth rumors a year ago.

Watch, it'll be Hoth anyway, and your theory is going to get debunked

dumb question: with all the success of TV shows recently, has there been any discussion by Disney to just start a TV series of Star Wars? Season 1?
