Wasn't Supershadow some ex-lawyer or something, with no connection to Lucas or Lucasfilm?

I remember going on the website frequently in the run up to ROTS and he did get some things right, though there was a lot of BS.

You know something is wrong when someone actually claims they gave Lucas the ideas for the prequels - who would admit to that!

"yeah, I was talking to Lucas and said "Georgie, you know what would really make the movies great? This creature with big floppy ears. People love Bugs Bunny, think of how much they would love him!" and Lucas loved it."

This should tell you something about the new movie - we are dicusssing Empire Strikes Back in a thread about it and have been for a while. JJ better "leak" some real info about this film quick or people might actually stop talking about it

I remember some of his little bio info but I don't know anything for certain. When he got anything remotely correct, he would paste it all over the place, you heard it here first, thus I MUST be who I say I am, wink wink.

The sad thing, is I get the impression everyone who goes to that site (like me) felt they'd found the ultimate fan site... He always had "info" and was pretty funny in how he responded to fan comments... always "yeap, I'm the best, you heard it here first." He was also pretty quick to remove any and all attempts to point out what he really was though. Or maybe he approved all comments and removed anything that wasn't gushing over him... I never commented.

Some people are just good at working the crowd. Look at this movie and how people flip out over any little piece of info that they get, even if it is common sense stuff like the original cast returning. He was just a little better at it I guess. No big deal, you got to have some fun at the time thinking of what they could do or praying that they didn't do something that you read on there.

I tell you what. At least supershadow gave me hope that the sequel trilogy was going to be made. He guaranteed it... said he'd read some parts of it. When Lucas himself was denying it existed (although he had in the past said there was more... I know I heard it somewhere before supershadow) and said he was too tired of making those kind of films to attempt it. I think he said Lucas felt too tired to make more live action films, but was going to make the sequel trilogy when cgi was good enough to replace live actors. haha brilliant cover. I never read his ep 7 script, so I don't know what he came up with.

With 2 - 3 weeks left on principal photography, I think a teaser poster, some official images and a teaser trailer are due soon before the end of the year.

Big Hero Six is less than three weeks out, I think we would have heard about it. Maybe Into the Woods in December.

If the teaser trailer was nothing but a slow truck in to a bearded and robed figure with his head down while the Force theme played, with the figure lifting his head and revealing himself as Luke, and then saying, "The Force will be with you. Always."...I'd be fine with that.

I think December is a good bet for a teaser, but didn't they open the first trailer/ teaser online with Itunes for the Phantom Menace in 1999? If I remember well it was back then also a showcase for the (then) new Sorenson video codec.

So ... could be in front of a Disney movie, but it could also be an "Online Only" event type.

Well, Apple did

Nowadays, no doubt it would open on Itunes, their digital platform.

That sounds about right... The new QT included iTunes and it seems that was the first trailer I saw with their new codec. And it was aaawwweessoommee.. I still get most of my trailers from trailers.apple.com.

I just remember the trailer taking five hours to download at work....and I watched every new shot loading when I should have been...you know...working.

A teaser by December seems right, but we may not see anything until the Spring...I can even see Disney holding off on a teaser until Avengers: Age of Ultron, making that movie even more of a bug-nuts event, with a full trailer coming for Comic-Con or D23. We may not even know the title of the movie until next spring (I say that, now watch LucasFilm announce the title when the movie wraps in a few days).

The Phantom Menace trailer was great! Truly a marvel of editing. Too bad the movie wasn't, you know, edited by the same person.

The cgi part I almost believe. Look at the Clone Troopers in the prequels - 100% cgi. Even when you saw a face, the costume was cgi. And he has done more and more animation recently too so I can buy into the idea that he was waiting for a time where he could do whatever he wanted and just bring in somebody to read the lines.

See, supershadow got you intersted in what they might do. That's why I think there is nothing wrong with that as long as the reader takes it with a grain of salt. I rememeber Star Trek First Contact was the first Trek film to really use the internet and I remember reading all the rumors that people swore were true - it was going to be a Galaxy Class ship like the Enterprise-D but with a cloaking device, Sisko was going to be in it, Picard/Data were going to die, Mrs Troi was going to play a major part in the film, etc. Most sounded horrible but there was always a nugget that made you think "hmmm, now that could be interesting". I wouldn't buy into every rumor we hear about this movie but if they get you thinking, then there is nothing wrong with them. Of course the movie is probably going to be horrible and we are going to sit there wondering why they didn't do what the rumors said!

With the way motion capture and cgi has advanced, it seems a definite possibility and maybe probability that actors' likenesses could be captured and used in place of their physical presence. Perhaps to replace stunt doubles or in cases where most of the film is cgi anyway (sort of like Tom Hanks in The Polar Express). Maybe even as a sort of insurance a film can be completed in case the actor is killed or dies before the end of production. Making a realistic, full cgi film has been done a few times for proof of the concept. Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within and Beowulf come to mind. At some point, in the hopefully near future, cgi can be realistic without looking like something is wrong with it. The Polar Express or the new Tintin come to mind there. Avatar was pretty good. I guess it shouldn't be too far away.

I agree the site kept a lot of people talking, but I think what Supershadow did wasn't good for anyone other than himself. The real problem being he did everything in his power to perpetuate that he was legit as was his information. It's downright bizarre really, as if he believed it himself.
