Hmmm. It wasn't like that at my UK screening of Attack of the Clones...

Yoda using a lightsabre elicited some laughter, and a general feeling of rather uncomfortable embarassment seemed to be massively emanating from the audience. Maybe UK residents are quite a bit more cynical and harder to please.

Amazing just how spry Yoda could be without even the use of that cane (I guess that was the joke?). Strong force powers - yes please, ultra-extreme 'flip-floppity' lightsaber fighting - no thanks.

Heh. I saw it on opening day in Croydon, and when Yoda drew back his robe the audience around me literally took a collective intake of breath as they realised we were about to see Yoda kick arse. Great moment, and I still love that scene.

I saw it in Nottingham. And it wasn't opening day, so it would have been more of a 'general public' type audience. Guess that made a difference.

It depends, it's a bit silly but kind of cool at the same time. My own theater experience people liked it-- probably because up until that point the movie was just so awful and boring, at least SOMETHING kind of fun and entertaining was finally happening, even if it was a bit ridiculous looking.

I actually thought Yoda was pretty cool in Episode III-- like how he can sense the turn in the clone troopers faster than the other Jedi who were cut down and dumbstruck about it. Plus that scene where he takes out those Red-armored guards was awesome.

Attack of the Clones is easily my least favourite SW film.

The Obi-Wan vs Jango parts are definetly the big highlights for me.

Yeah I'm kind of back-and-forth about it and Episode I myself. When Ep. II first came out, I thought it was the clearly better movie, because it has certain sequences in the movie I like that are better than anything in Ep. I. On the other hand, it has a lot of scenes that are far WORSE than anything in Ep. I, too. Episode I I find to be a bit duller overall, but Episode II is just way too cringey and groan-inducing. Not to mention I'm not a fan of the plasticy, artificial look of the movie (I think it was one of the first movies to be shot digitally).

True, it was opening day for me, so guaranteed everyone was excited. There was quite a buzz about seeing it, just like with TPM. Literally it seemed like everyone was giving that nerdy, giddy laugh (looks like agent Smith, sounded like sponge Bob), like we can't believe this is happening. The same thing happened when yoda and sidious squared off in ep3.

Agreed, also seeing Yoda bounce around like a toy completely takes me out of the movie.

I've still never seen a JJ Abrams film but he's really into lens flares, right? So this could be legit.

I saw it twice opening day, one 35MM at midnight and then the 2pm DIGITAL show and both times the audience roared with approval for Yoda drawing his saber. Couldn't hear half the Dooku fight the second time because of all the cheering. Swear on my gravestone.

Yeah. The Yoda battle with Dooku was awesome. I was only 12, but after seeing Yoda just walk around and be frail and old for most of the time on screen in the originals and Ep 1, it was AWESOME to see him go bonkers.

The fight with Palpatine was cool in Ep3 but it does not beat the original sight of seeing Yoda go into battle. The overall battle was definitely awesome though.

Wow, Disney's even playing the mystery box with the teaser trailer.

"We got 90 seconds of the new Star Wars. When and where can you see it? We'll never tell. Muwahahaha!

Seriously, Disney must really be huffing their own vapors right now. They have every major movie website posting about when a teaser trailer might debut.

Sounded like the Millenium Falcon flying at the camera was going to be the only bit of actual film footage. And after CinemaBlu's post, I think I've already seen it.

That gif is supposedly a fake.

Star Wars Underworld - Source: 'The Force Awakens' GIF Footage, UK Reports Fake; Trailer Not Finished

Two Star Wars: The Force Awakens reports broke online today, one from the folks at Jedi News claiming the teaser trailer had been shown to 501st members in the UK, and another from a Reddit user who posted an alleged clip of the Millennium Falcon from the trailer.

We reached out to a source close to the production, and unfortunately, both of these reports are false. The source told us that while nearly finished, the trailer is still in production. Furthermore, while the Falcon does appear in the trailer per what we heard from earlier leaked descriptions, the shot is very different from the one in the GIF.

With the release date approaching, we can expect to continue hearing a lot more rumored information about the trailer. We will do our best at the SWU to quickly separate fact from myth.

Also, the Falcon in the OT fire two bolts at once. The one in the gif is firing one bolt at a time. It's got the square satellite dish tho, that's supposed to have replaced the round one torn off in ROTJ.

I hope it's not from the movie.
How many times do we need to see that Millennium Falcon fleeing/firing?

I love how the prequels gave us such cool new designs, and didn't just recycle the same old look and feel.
That's what I am most concerned about with these films.
Pure "fan" service, but hey, we haven't seen "anything" yet.

Getting back to classic is what it's all about to make these movie go! Trying to top the latest Marvel movie effects will only make the new films much like the PT...very regular and very forgettable at this point. Now if you go back to old school....all of a sudden it starts a new "old school" fad and makes them very special. Oh and Williams has to come up with a good score..a "MEMORABLE" score. His last was Fates so he needs to hit a real home run here unlike Clones and Sith...

I agree. Say what you will about the prequels (I'm a big fan of Phantom Menace especially.), but at least they weren't fan-servicy reboots. That's what I fear most about these films, that they won't be true sequels, but more so reboots and retread the same story line of the OT. People critique all the politics and complex story-lines of the PT, but I really hope the new trilogy doesn't throw away great lore like that for a simplified Empire vs the good guys story.
