I'm digging the light saber but guy in the first scene looks like Kevin Hart.

If C3PO was not in the OT and was introduced only in the PT, they would have hated him as well.

(OK, I'll admit that part of the hate for Jar Jar is because he was annoying as hell and his speech pattern was considered a bit racist, although I personally think the latter is an overreaction.)

Many of these macho men have large collections of Star Wars action figures.

There was nothing wrong at all with Lloyd as an actor in that role. There was plenty wrong with the way he was written.
Quit it, you're making too much sense!

as far as the Falcon goes, Han was always doing modifications to it. It shall remain to be seen if she's still the fastest ship in the Galaxy.

Lando has got to show up as a possible cameo at the end of Force Awakens or in Episodes VIII & IX.

Perhaps the sith we see is the Ancient Evil that has been mentioned before. Plus the fact that his/her saber looks more like a torch then a clean blade.

I liked the brief glimpses of the Stormtroopers. I wonder if they have better aim 30 years later? I wonder if there will be a big trailer for the Super Bowl this year?

My ship sailed after Episode II: Attack of the Clones, especially after hearing of Lucas' countless alterations to the original three There are other franchises out there to fulfill my needs, this would have been good if it was 1989

Again, not trolling, just happy for those who still sail with this franchise, I'm off.
...but now knowing that J.J. Abrams, Disney + Lucas Films and all cast involved, I will give this film a chance of viewing OPENING DAY!

After viewing just this new Teaser Trailer, I think J.J. Abrams, John Williams, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill, including newbies Andy Serkis, Oscar Issac, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, and Adam Driver are all going to knock this 'Episode' OUT OF THE PARK

That was a terrific teaser.

I noticed that as well. I don't think J.J. Abrams needed to have that kind of filming style in any Star Wars film but this is J.J. Abrams. To have something similar to that of Star Trek is also not a bad thing. J.J. can connect his films with that aspect of style and cut of a film, from all or any of his 'own' films

To follow the Millennium Falcon maneuver in that manner is quite real and tasteful, to show the audience another view of the space relic maneuvering in space and time; it's actually quite refreshing for everyone.

I for one, when I did vote on which PT episode I liked most, surprisingly was Attack of the Clones. I did remind me of 'Empire' but of course as a prequel

I would like to agree on that observation as well BUT, I definitely will be seeing both films next year

I feel like initially if most people didn't like Jar Jar, they were ambivalent towards him. It wasn't until everyone started to comiserate online for over a decade that their ambivalence turned to hate...and hate turned to aggression. The path to the dark side! lol

Didn't read a thing about the teaser before watching it earlier today. The first thing I disliked was the lightsaber... and apparently I'm not the only one. It just looks... strange. Everything else blew me away though. SO HAPPY.

I hated him from the beginning. It is funny because I hate Jar Jar so much but The Phantom Menace is my favorite of the prequels. I guess that show how much more I dislike AotC and Sith more than Jar Jar. Ewok hate is something I have never understood though. I loved them from the beginning...just as long as they don't blink.

The teaser trailer has me feeling optimistic that Abrams did a good job. Just as long as Benedict Cumberbatch doesn't show up and say "I am...Boba Fett".

The real life lightsaber battle between Fox and Disney's lawyers is going to be amazing to see.

I grew up on Star Wars. Saw the original films when they first debuted in theaters back in 1977, 1980 and 1983. While I never understood the fanaticism that fans have with these films, I just approached it as everyone has their own level of what they love about these films.

I think that too many Star Wars fans slam the prequel trilogy and don't give those films the respect they deserve. Sure, they're nowhere near the quality of the original trilogy but they do complete the story that Lucas started with the original films. The Phantom Menace is probably the weakest film out of the entire series but that Lucasfilm made up for the first movie when they gave us Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. The films simply completed the story that Lucas began in 1977.

I think that Abrams is already making a huge mistake, if he's planning on taking Luke Skylwaker to the dark side by turning him evil. By making his 'force' powers stronger than any Jedi that came before him. Not only is that rehashing plotlines and plot ideas that Lucas had already done but that it seems to be nothing more than regurgitating storylines that Lucas has already done.

Palpatine's rise to power, Anakin's journey from the light side of the force to the dark side, Luke's journey as a Jedi Knight to Jedi Master (and if the rumors are true) to a power mad Jedi God. I'll reserve my opinion until I see the final product, but I also don't like the idea of Han Solo
[Show spoiler]being in control of a Super Star Destroyer
instead of the Millenium Falcon.

It's because the hilt beaming out the way it does, doesn't make logical sense. I personally couldn't care less. It looks cool regardless, and it sure as heck doesn't effect my viewing pleasure. To each their own though. Some diehards will find anything from a grain of sand out of place to complain about.

I swear, all people do is complain, b*tch, and whine anymore. Oh, a lightsaber looks different than the others? Who cares! Take off your nostalgia goggles and realize that this is a new direction for the franchise. Go home and bow to your VHS Unaltered Original Trilogy and stop complaining.

Ugh.
