That wasn't a terrible spoof but the final title should have been The Force Awakens and then fade in the words Three Times a Night to Go to the Bathroom.

I wonder just how much screen time the original actors will be getting. I have this feeling its going to be a lot less than fans are thinking.

If the plot device is really the search for Luke Skywalker, I'm thinking that we probably won't see much of Mark Hamill at all (and not until towards the end of the film). Shame.

I am also expecting to see rather more of Solo and Chewbacca than Leia.

I am also wondering how much screen time will be given to R2-D2 and C-3P0 since the film introduces a new droid that featured in the teaser and leaked concept artwork.

Um, I cannot believe someone took the time to make these wallpapers.

I guess they like the new droid?

Personally, I can't stand it. Definitely not a fan. If it cracks open and has arms and legs like a Droideka my opinion could very well be swayed, however.

Wow.

I really liked that. But I'm one of the few who absolutely loved MOS - now my favorite movie. I loved how they ended the trailer.

It's based on a Ralph McQuarrie design, so it's a-okay with me. I like it.

I guess I don't really see how that droid would function like that. The great thing about the original droids was that I didn't have to suspend my disbelief very much, if at all. These guys need to keep it simple and focus on writing or this is going to be another "prequel" disaster. We don't need to see whatever stupid idea someone "realized" with their CGI prowess.

That's not enough for me, honestly. Not all his designs were great.

It might be based on an early droid design but it does look very different indeed (the above link compares the two).

To be honest, I'm really not sure what to make of it. I haven't seen anywhere near enough footage to reach a proper verdict.

Edit:

That page also posts this Ralph McQuarrie quote - “I think Artoo was just described as a small robot. I thought of him as running on a giant ball bearing — just a sphere, a circle, wheel-like. He had gyros so he could go in any direction on this ball.”

And that sounds quite a bit different too. The new droid's entire body has become a giant ball bearing or circle, rather than merely running on one.

"Man of Steel" was a great film; I don't care what anyone else says. My only gripe was some of the product placement being too obvious. As for that slower version of the trailer, I liked it...but the music sounded more like "Lord of the Rings".

I've seen like four headlines today about how Lucas hasn't seen the trailer. They make it out to make Lucas sound bitter about not being consulted as much, but I kinda doubt it.

Wait, you mean a guy who didn't want to direct Star Wars anymore and sold his company doesn't care about the new Star Wars film? Shocking.

Then if he doesn't care he should not stand in the way of getting the UOT to us in HD. Oh he cares....

How is he standing in the way of anything?

He sold everything and retired.

Whether it is true or not, I can't understand why anyone would care.

And why would he want to get caught up in publicly commenting on every development. That's got 'no win proposition' written all over it.

His reasoning for that seemed more than fair enough. Quoting from article:

Lucas said that although he hadn’t watched the trailer, he still planned to see Episode VII when it’s released in December 2015, explaining that he had avoided the early footage because he liked “going to the movies and watching the whole thing there.”
