His point is, if it wasn't for George, we'd only have Star Trek right now!

I'll echo what other people have said, George Lucas comes across as a pretty cool guy in person and a lot of the bashing he gets is unwarranted imo.

Also whilst we're on the topic of Lucas, the t-shirt he's wearing in this pic is absolutely priceless lol.

Such a lying sell out!
The real fans will remember Lucas saying long long ago thàt he always intended on continuing Star Wars. Besides telling mark hamill that he would be reprising his role around 2011 or later... He also stated that the franchise would be passed on to his first daughter (she helped think up the ewoks and jar jar) but he probably heard the collective cynicism and hate, then decided his child shouldn't not and could not handle that.

So it is more like, without him you would not have anything to bicker about and he sold his baby so that the real fans and fake (you) can continue to have Star Wars in your life and hopefully one that a newer generation can grow with.

Side note: I love how Lucas saying he has not seen the trailer because he likes to go into the movie without having anything ruined = Lucas does not care haha. Pathetic internet generation at its finest. You guys are really beyond help.

Gotta love that people wanted Lucas to hand over Star Wars to other filmmakers for years, and now that he has he's called a sell out. The man can't win with some people.

For all we know he has seen the trailer and is just trolling everyone because he knows how butthurt fans can get.

I'd laugh if that was the case.

Right? I mean one of the biggest questions in film history was "who shot first?"...

The dude tries to tell people the only way he thinks he can and people freak out.

The people complaining about the trailer and especially Lucas not seeing it are just looking for something to gripe about. The force awakens teaser could have been the Gone with the Wind of trailers and the same "fans" would be complaining still.

I am sure there were haters when the original hit and they probably felt like retards when history unfolded over the years

That pic is also on the inside of the artwork for the Indiana Jones BD set. I guess the middle finger of the "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" in Jedi to the fans wasn't enough.

Not that hard to remaster a print of the original for the nerds that helped make you a billionaire is it?

Are you even old enough to have seen the original theatre version?

And I mean the original with this guy/erm lady?

Because most people that complain and use movie forums are not old enough to even know what they are asking for... Not saying this is you but it is a real question.

Many people don't even know that he has been retouching the movies for years and years even before the special edition re release...

I still prefer this scene over the Ian McDiarmid insert from the special edition because I hate the dialogue change. People seeing it for the first time in order 4,5,6 and then the crap of 1,2,3 lose the big reveal in Empire. Lucas ruined the greatest twist in the history of film, IMO.

I will give you that. Being someone who grew up with the the original I have never thought of that. But from here on out you could just show them to your kids and friends in the right order. I mean I am pretty sure most of planet earth knew who vader was before the prequels.

But I hear your valid point.

The original emperor was creepy but those eyes aged so bad compared to the rest of the film.

This made me laugh. Even if Chewie won the race he still wouldn't get a medal.

I basically don't like the new ESB emperor because he looks all weird. At least he sounds like the emperor tho. He should look like this, as Adywan has done.

Is any of this the point? I don't really care that much personally, even though I may be considered a nerd.

Well then quit trolling and go elsewhere... Politely I ask of thee. That was my point.

Everyone coming on here crying and moaning to only end up with "I don't really care" lol

Not trying to be mean, but I don't hang out in twilight forums and complain because I don't like it and don't care :/ just saying.

I think you're saying you think you're the king of star wars discussions. Is that right? You're so mean
