And you put no individual touches on it whatsoever? I would imagine that you have something in your vehicle which is far more efficient than the original 1970 part, which makes some aspect of the vehicle perform better in some way. Likely the radio, antenna or some other feature. The square dish in the star wars universe is the same type of thing...the square dish is a more efficient and effective--non-original--modification, so now Han can listen to "This Minute Now" and "Light the Sky on Fire" without so much static. |

Perhaps with the magically appearing, disappearing and then reappearing rocks and windows in Star Wars and Empire you just assumed the dish came off and then magically reappeared when they flew out of the Death Star in Jedi?

I had a dream that I saw the new movie and it was actually pretty ridiculous. Old Han Solo showed up in a quick blink and miss running scene. The main sith was Eva Green when I was waiting for Michael Fassbender to show up. All the weird aliens were played by mentally challenged people. the majority of the film took place in American suburbs. Most of the jedis were doing training exercises in a soccer field - silly exercises that people would do in a self-help group. The best scene in the movie was right at the beginning where the film opened with weaponized Ewoks on Landspeeders on Tattoine. But I remember thinking in my dream that the prequels turned out to eventually be better than the new one.

Heh. What do you expect people to work from? Memory? I know you're not fond of Struzan's work Pete, but it still takes a huge amount of skill to be able to do what he does and to do it so well; that much is proved by the dubious fan poster a couple of pages back.

![]() I'm just teasing. I agree, it does take quite a bit of talent to create some of the great pieces of art Drew has created over the years. |

I just remember when movie posters (and videogames, remember those late 70s - early 80s Atari game cartridges?) were completely original works that sometimes bore little resemblance to the actual movie. And I prefer what Struzan does to what studios are doing to movie posters these days with actual Photoshop. There's no artistry anymore. Some of the Blu-rays out there have absolute s--t artwork, ruining what was the original movie poster. Warner was pretty much the only studio to release discs with the original poster art on the covers but even they have been hit and miss (more miss lately). |

Not sure if you are trolling, but I'm sure both Jung and Kastel would say Struzan is one of their idols. He's the greatest poster artist of all time, and his work has influenced every poster artist since. It's a shame, most posters are strictly digital now.

![]() Unfortunately, traditional art takes more time than digital and costs more. Artistic license has to be accepted when commissioning an artist to do poster work, as their style cannot be excluded and certainly can't be redone. Everything that makes what Struzan did wonderful, made it costly and inflexible. Digital art is the only way for most movies these days, because it reduces the time and style restraints, as well as makes it easily edited or redone. I'm guessing the time factor was mostly to blame for the lack of resemblance. The work had to be started early enough, they probably only had rough concept art to work from. |

How is that trolling? The Posters for the OT back in 77,80 and 83 were far better than Struzan's work imho. Throw in Sano and Reamer as well! And the topic is just Star Wars....not "other" film posters Struzan has worked on. And you think Struzan is greater than Amsel? Not in my book!
