Well, if the first teaser didn't quite do it for you, I'm glad this one did. And that was my exact reaction to the first teaser; I thought I couldn't get this excited for anything anymore, but it proved me wrong, and how. Other sequels, Jurassic World in particular comes to mind, should watch and learn. THIS is how you do a trailer for a new installment in a beloved franchise.

He is talking to a new character, as originally he was talking to Leia while saying this, but here he does say "My sister has it" (not "your mother" btw, so not sure it would be one of Leia's offsprings).
New character I imagine could be (I haven't read any spoiler) a member of the Skywalker family, or a completely unrelated new Force sensitive character.

My God, that trailer was awesome. Sitting here at work watching it, smiling from ear to hear, with goosebumps, and giggling like a little girl. Never considered myself a humongous Star Wars fan or anything like that, but that hit all the right buttons. I think I'll freeze myself like Cartman so I can thaw out in December. Cant wait!

Contrary to what movies and comics would have you believe, you can't drop something big from higher up just because it's big. There's a reason that ants don't get smashed into a billion pieces when they fall off a wall and your dog can jump down safely from about the same height a person can.

A fall from a few thousand feet, or even a few hundred feet, even by or ESPECIALLY BY something as massive as a Super Star Destroyer is almost 100% guaranteed to at a minimum break her keel (yes starships have f-ing keels) and snap the ship. Think Titanic. At almost any velocity at all striking the surface of a planet at an angle would disintegrate a huge portion of the ship in addition to shaping it in half.

So yes. The ship must have been parked. I'm also assuming that a ship that size doesn't have landing gear, so it was probably in some sort of really low hover, which would explain why the front is in the dirt. When the hover finally gave out it probably only fell a few dozen feet at most.

Don't act like I'm crazy for thinking through all this. I absolutely guarentee you that somebody in that office had this exact conversation before they drew that.

also, the parked and abandoned theory plays alot better with the story. After the Emperor dies it's far FAR more likely that the officer would have abandoned their posts and their ship than that the rebels would actually have been able to shoot down a Super Star Destroyer.

I liked the first teaser just fine but it didn't evoke anywhere near as much emotion as the trailer just did. In fact, the teaser didn't really evoke much emotion at all. Seeing the Falcon again was cool, the X-Wings were cool, the stormtroopers were cool but but none of them were 'holy ****' cool.

Just about everything in the trailer is 'holy ****' cool.

Even the trench run. That should have had my eyes rolling to back of my head but it was totally freaking awesome
