I concur! This will not only crush, but destroy AoU! This feels like Star Wars. The same feeling I had as a kid. No way AoU can create that. Who you know haven't heard of Star Wars?! Can't think of anyone. Watch all the lines you'll see all over the country opening night[emoji41]

Reason being is it does not look like a CGI tardfest like the Prequels did. This looks like a Movie you want to see with special effects put in at the right places not filmed on a all greenscreen for a CGI tardfest. This is a movie by a fan for the fans.

The numbers are certainly most impressive thus far.

If the movie is actually good then it's possible. The only thing about Avatar is that it was the right film at the right time setting off the whole Neo/Neo 3-D craze and it like Titanic captured both a male and female audience.

It's the use of the phrase "tardfest." That, and it's a drive by (incorrect) argument that isn't the true problem with the prequel trilogy. Which is the writing and the directing, something that we can't really judge Episode 7 on quite yet.

I wouldn't have bothered responding otherwise, but referring to the prequels as a "cgi tardfest" is a ignorant thing to say in regards to those films productions and just as a person.

There was a ton of set and miniatures work in the prequels.

There was more miniatures and model work, in the prequels than the original trilogy.

Just remember (Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation) was supposed to come out (12/25/15) and was pushed ahead to july cause they didn't want to go against EP.7!

What does that tell you.

It appears the X-Wing over water segment from both The Force Awakens teasers were filmed in England’s Lake District. Local newspapers revealed that the footage of the X Wing fighters uses a mixture of CGI and practical effects to create the effect of the ships flying over the water’s surface.

It will never go over 600 million domestic, not a chance. It may go over a billion world wide but it wont end up in the top 3 or 4 films of all time. I still predict The Avengers will be the winner of the year at the BO

They have it doing 500 million first day worldwide, it will do over 600 in the USA.
