Isn't that the same running time as A New Hope? (pre-additions?)

121 minutes pre-additions, Special Edition is 125. So yeah, around the same.

Two hours, give or take a few minutes, is pretty much perfect for a Star Wars film so I see absolutely no reason to worry.

Cool. And I'm not worried. Disney is over the moon on this one.

Empire is 124 minutes, the SE 127, so that's another example. And I know you're not worried, I was more addressing chris_sc77 and whatever other like-minded people may be reading with that part.

Disney was bullish on Tomorrowland, too, which is why they moved it to May, so maybe there is at least a little reason to worry.

I liked Tomorrowland, but it really seemed to divide audiences.

I liked it too. Disheartning to see a nearly empty El Capitan when I went to see it 5 days after opening.

The image of Ford looks nothing like him and the overall composition is just way off. I also have a bad feeling about the other two characters, they really don't look very interesting at all.

So far, if I compared this to TPM, I'd say what I saw of Lucas's prequel (on build up) looked much better, poster and character wise.
Dude, are you this negative on EVERYTHING? That poster looks freaking awesome and old school. Which is what J.J. is going for here. And the other two characters "don't look interesting at all"? Based on what? We currently have only two teasers available that live up to their name in every way. They tease. J.J. is keeping as much of this film under wraps as he can until it gets closer to actual release. Jeez the negativity you spread around is unctuous. It just makes me want to…

That is without end credits as working cuts usually do. Runtimes are commonly referenced with end credits so this could very well be above 130 minutes.

With the supposedly leaked info and concept arts we're pretty sure he'll be playing a
[Show spoiler]half-cyborg ex-Empire high ranking officer marooned on Jakku looking after Rey.

Just saying, I think that poster (even though its not the main poster) looks drab and has bad composition (position of the characters in the frame). Plus, all the Star War posters have had the same retro look with hand drawn posters, so J.J. isn't doing anything special here.

True, I haven't seen much with the characters yet, but just by looking at them and the tit bits we have seen, so far they haven't really done anything for me. Despite TPM being a turd, in the early stages the characters looked way better than what I've seen here so far.

I'm being very cautious with Star Wars, we got badly stung before.

Ah, the Prequels. I loved them so I'm not going to even begin on that because it would just turn into a flame war. That's not what I want. You have the right to be cautious if you so choose. I just know that it seems like everywhere you post there is rarely, if ever, anything positive at all. Is there anything you are positive about? There must be. Keep it real dude, but a little optimism never hurt anybody. J.J. has said before that he was always a huge Star Wars fan, more so than even Trek, and therefore seems the type who is going to do everything in his power to make it right. It'll still have its detractors when it hits no matter what the rest of the audience, including you and me, says. Likewise if most of the audience, also including you and me, do hate it it will still have those who love it. I hope it does live up to, or surpass, whatever expectations you have for it dude. I would like to see you on this board gushing love and sweetness around after seeing it. Just remember, the movie is still months away and we have yet to be given any significant details about the overall plot or the new characters. The teasers are freaking awesome, particularly the second one with that beautiful John William's fanfare, but they are just teasers there to wet our appetites for the main course. They intentionally don't reveal much. I personally applaud J.J., and Disney for allowing him, to take this road. It's become ever more popular for trailers to reveal everything up to a year out from release and it takes guts to do what they're doing with this. It backfired on Tomorrowland, sadly, but Star Wars is going to draw the crowds no matter what just for the name alone. I am actually glad I'll be able to see this film and be genuinely surprised by things.
