Rebels is good but not as good as Clone Wars.

Clone Wars is what brought me back on the Star Wars bandwagon, from which I was kicked out in 2005 after the prequels (which I kinda liked). So well written, and the lightsaber battles are second to none.

yet.. Rebels season 1 is better than CW season 1... hopefully it continues to increase in quality since it's got a lot of the CW staff working on it

Agreed, and it definitely has the potential with the cast of characters, both new and old, it's building.

I recently binged all of Clone Wars and I have to agree; while the first season isn't bad for what it is, the show improves dramatically over the following two seasons and the last three (especially seasons 5 and 6) are great, some episodes/story arcs are amazing.

I don't doubt Rebels' first season isn't as good as CW was at its strongest, but we have to keep in mind it's just started. It will improve as the crew refines it and figures out what they want it to be.

Rebels is enjoyable if you want a nostalgic visual and audio Star Wars fix. They're literally ripping off camera moves and shots from the original. They're fun but I'm on the fence about them. I can't remember as many homages in The Clone Wars apart from the usual lines been used repeatedly.

Correct me if I am wrong but is this thread about The Force Awakens????

Why are there debates about other shows that have no bearing regarding the said film in question.

We all appreciate The Force Awakens posts you contribute, but didn't you post a picture of Darth Vader taking a piss the other day?

Well like I said, it's just starting out, so give it time. Clone Wars maybe didn't have a problem of copying the movies too much but the first season felt extremely, how do you put it, "kiddy" or "infantile" at times. It was an animated kid's show, fair enough, but they still cut back on the silliest stuff for later seasons, which aligned much more closely with the films tonally.

I wouldn't say they have no bearing on the new films since everything is being written to fit together now, and it's been heavily rumored characters introduced in Clone Wars and Rebels will appear in some of the new films. Cad Bane for example is rumored to show up in Rogue One. Yes, that's Rogue One, not The Force Awakens, but still.

Not talking about the Star Wars movies and shows would be like talking about Avengers without the other Marvel movies. In fact, Star Wars might be the first and most original "cinematic universe."

Here's an awesome video that has me even more excited for Star Wars VII than anything else I have seen, despite it only covering I-VI.

Star Wars Poetry

It's probably been shared like a billion times in this thread, but a quick search turned up nothing. I apologize in advance for the 1 billion and 1 reshare.

We really need a new trailer so people can have something worth talking about.

All of those images showing "Ep VII" were before the official films title was released. The trailers and posters don't even have the "Episode VII" attached to them. It simply is "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."

This discussion is going to go in endless circles, isn't it?

Yep. And I'm fine if it doesn't have "Episode VII" in the opening crawl. The original trilogy never had those and were included only after the 97' Special Edition cuts. I'm more worried about it NOT having an opening crawl after all these rumors reading it won't feature one.

I can't imagine it not having one, it will have to get up us to speed on the last 30 years!

Only the first STAR WARS didn't. Empire and Jedi have always had "Episode V" and "Episode VI" in their opening crawls. As far as STAR WARS, it was added in the 1981 re-release, not the Special Edition.

Empire and Jedi were always "Episode V" and "Episode VI", the first film on the other hand didn't get its "Episode IV: A New Hope" subtitle until the '81 re-release.

Edit: I see PeterTHX got in before me.

Exactly, the opening crawl will come in handy more than ever this time around. Plus, they wouldn't want to break that tradition, they want this to feel like Star Wars in every way possible.

These are the 3 VHS sets of the OT that myself and many Star Wars fans grew up with:

And these were the original posters for the OT:

This movie is Episode VII (what else would it be?), it'll have 'Episode VII" on the opening crawl, Lucasfilm is marketing this film the way the OT was marketed which means no Episode numbers on the posters/logo and only using the episode title.

Can't believe people are still concerned about this.
