Do you all realize that we will all be crying our eyes out during this film? My eyes will probably be constantly dripping.

From the film? No.

From being sardined between ten rows of nerds that probably haven't bathed in a week, maybe.

How about doing what you want and like and leave what others like or not for the others? It's good to know that you have those extra 10m to enjoy the music and the credits. My time is limited so I use those 10m to do something else. If I want to listen to the credits score, I will spin the CD.

I don't even know why this is topic is open to discussion. I know people that fast forward the opening credits. So? I don't care.

Maybe I'm alone here, but I never failed to watch the end credits for every single Star Wars episode every time. I never get tired of John Williams music, I read the names too. I keep saying to myself "Hey, Joe Johnston! Star Wars sure did launch their careers!". It's fun every time!
I continue to be amazed at the things that bother some people.

Just saying my opinion of what I prefers, I didn't say it bothers me. I swear it doesn't bother me, I'm too old for that. As you know different people want different things in their ilfe and will say it, doesn't mean it bothers them if they don't get it.

Your time is limited? Really. You just spent 2+ hours in a theater and all of a sudden you're on the clock.

Well, enjoy your walk to the parking lot. We'll enjoy the extras.

Exactly what I was thinking.

It actually seems like a lack of appreciation when one skips the credits. As if a person decides at the end of a meal at a restaurant that they don't want to tip, because their money is limited. We realize it's limited. That makes the tip all the more appreciated by the one who gave you your meal experience.

I consider the credits to be part of the movie. They include credits when the runtime is listed. You set aside that amount of time to view the movie as a whole. Otherwise, you're being Joe Six-Pack. Or Mr. Pink, if we keep the "no tip" analogy going.

Sigh. Yes, it's important to read who was a gaffer, best boy, and the assistant to JJ Abram's assistant. If you can't sit through a ten minute list of cast and crew, you don't deserve to watch the film.

It feels a bit funny to see Boba, Bossk, Dengar and IG-88 together now after Clone Wars revealed they're bounty hunter BFFs. Well, IG-88 hasn't been shown to be part of the crew yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if Rebels or Rogue One will introduce him as one of them.

I will admit that credits have gotten longer over the years, so they can seem a bit tedious sometimes, but there's almost always something in them that's interesting, like the locations that were used or a "special thanks". Things like that are cool. Knowing who did the accounting or drove trucks is less interesting, but I guess the point is that the whole team deserves recognition.

Now, the credits on the Lord of the Rings EE are a joke. Heh. We don't need 15 minutes of fan club members on the screen. They should have their credits as a link on the menu or something. That's a bit too much including all that on those films. They're already long as is.

I can guarantee you that 99% of the people credited don't even care about their onscreen credit, let alone whether you read it or not. They worked on the film because they got paid to do it. The only people who may care are the cast and "above-the-line" crew.

You're probably right.

It used to only be above-the-line people credited, but somewhere along the way, they decided (or were forced) to include everyone. That's probably when a lot of moviegoers stopped caring about the credits.

I think people just don't want to be excluded. But it's really not important to them that you sit there and read their credit.

The only credits I sit through for a film would be any Marvel movie. Because there is a purpose behind them with an extra scene.

You won't catch me in a theater watching credits for a movie like Media's Family Reunion or Must Love Dogs. It just never happens.

Now, if I saw a movie with a group of people and we discussed the movie while credits were rolling, yeah I do that. But I'm not paying attention to the actual credits.

I don't always sit through the movie credits, unless it's Marvel or produced by some company i know has an affinity for mid to post credit scenes. Half the time the scene doesn't add anything. And as far as the score is concerned, it gets chopped up and blended with other parts of the score featured in the credits, but was almost always better sounding in the movie itself. I buy movie scores on occasion but because I liked a piece I heard during the movie itself, not the credits.

Exactly. I get amazed how people paint their case on light on what THEY think it's the right way to do something. All others are wrong.

What? Don't disrespect the people that made LOTR!! You should burn in hell for not tiping, reading on the ridiculous analogy you used. You know what? The people that made the money, and assuming that they get a share of the ticket sales/BD sales (which they don't) are not out of their money because I already paid to see the movie.

I don't always sit through the credits, but when I do, I drink Dos Equis.

Stay thirsty, my friends.
